The Candy Cane Inn earns rave reviews for its comprehensive amenities and prime location near Disneyland, with a free shuttle service that guests find highly convenient. Reviewers consistently praise the hotel's friendly service and spotless cleanliness, often mentioning the well-kept grounds and renovated rooms. While the inviting atmosphere and modern decor contribute to its charm, some guests have called out the rooms for being cozy yet slightly small. I've stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in the Fall of 2010 and 2011 and have plans to return again at somepoint this year as well. The hotel is literally only a few minutes walk to Disneyland and California Adventure, and it is on the same side of the street. Garden Walk is on the other side of the street, just a few blocks down. Walking is easy and convenient; however, if you get tired they have a frequent shuttle. There is a convenience store at the corner that is open 24-hours for coffee, etc. However, Candy Cane Inn does a wonderful job at serving a continental breakfast in the morning. You have your choice of cereal, yogurt, danish, fruit, juices and coffee/tea. The pool is small, but there is a hot tub and everything is well maintained and clean. The grounds are absolutely georgous. There are many, many plants, flowers, and foliage everywhere! The rooms are very well decorated and clean and roomy enough for 3-4 people to get around. Also, it is a maker-or-breaker for me with first impressions, which include the front desk staff. From the first time I've ever contacted them, everyone -- and I mean EVERY ONE of them -- have gone above-and-beyond to make my stay great! I really enjoy staying at this hotel... it is my hotel of choice for when I go to Disneyland! Vakay

I'm a realist. I believe you get what you pay for. I rarely book a hotel, and enter the property with expectations higher than what I have of my own home.

But wow.. Candy Cane Inn- You've gone & done it. I now have a standard set in my head of what a hotel should be!

I have visited Southern California, and in particular Anaheim many, many times. And never have I had a more pleasant stay in a hotel. I believe a holiday is what you make it, and my holiday probably still would have been great, but for some reason after a long hard day at Disney, being able to walk back to my hotel, and not have to cross a high way really made me feel at ease. I actually enjoyed just hanging out at the Candy Cane Inn. Popping down to the convenient store for snacks & sleeping on those heavenly pillows!

And to top it all off, being able to see those spectacular, magical fireworks from the comfort of my own balcony rocked!

Well done Candy Cane Inn, you've earnt yourself a loyal customer!

Candy Cane Inn is a GREAT place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My family had the opportunity to stay in both the standard and premium rooms. While the premium room has extra perks and larger rooms, the standards are great too! The rooms were super quiet. Both rooms were by the stairs and I was worried it would be loud with all of the foot traffic. Aside from the occassional excited child we hardly heard any noise. We spent only a small amount of time in the rooms as we were in Disneyland ALL day. We did have a chance to take advantage of the pools, and the kids pool is really great. It was nice to be able to relax in the sun while my son played in the shallow pool! The grounds are beautiful and extremely well maintained.
The only advice I have, because I don't want to call it a complaint since it wasn't a big deal to us, is to get to breakfast early. If you have a premium room be sure to order breakfast delivery. It is worth it. When we were in the standard room we got breakfast and brought it to our room. It gets a bit crowded in the dining area. The breakfast is very low key but great as we had been eating all kinds of "fair" type food in Disneyland.
The walk to Disneyland is great. If you are in relatively good health it will be a breeze. From the exit gate at Disney to the hotel is 12 minutes at a normal walk. We had amazing weather so we didn't mind walking. The shuttle was prompt and clean. We mostly used it to get to the park as we had a difficult time keeping ourselves on schedule for pickup!
We will absolutely stay here again!

Love the Candy Cane Inn! The staff is so nice. Clean and good location. Good for family vacation. The only thing I would say is there are alot of kids here so you are probably not going to sleep in in the morning as they tend to be loud and excited walking down the hall. But who wants to sleep in anyway when visiting DL?!

We regularly stay in Anaheim and that includes on occasion staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We stood in the premium room with our three young boys for 2 nights. Even though we arrived early the staff was friendly and made us feel welcomed from check-in until check-out. They accommodated to any of our request and really made our stay special. The walk to the park was no different then walking from Downtown Disney to Disneyland. We took advantage of the turn down service, the bathrobes and complimentary breakfast basket. It was the most comfortable experience that we have ever had and the there is no way that the hospitality at the Disneyland Hotel could match up without charging an outrageous fee.
P.S.
We've already booked our next stay for the "One More Day of Disneyland" celebration.

We never stay anywhere else for Disneyland trips anymore. They rember us every year, so kind and helpful. Breakfast has lots of choices and actually counts as a meal! Free shuttle all day, clean rooms, lots of charm, anything you need. We even skip the shuttle and walk- takes about 10 minutes to the gates!

My family (3 of us,) have been making our annual trip to disneyland for 9 years. The last 4 years and 6 visits we have stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, for eight days. I put together many disneyland trips for friends and always put them up at the Candy Cane Inn. First of all it's beautiful, and quaint with it's European style, and you can tell it's family owned and run. Location is amazing! You can walk, but the shuttle is convenient and the drivers are so nice, they always recognize us each year. They are very accommodating, I always ask for a 2nd floor so I don't have a direct view of the parking lot, and for a longer stay the deluxe room is just a bit bigger. The pool is small but nice, and never feels crowded, and the complimentary breakfast, is really the "cherry on top". It saves money and time, and my husband brings it back to the room for me while I'm getting ready and they sit down at the pool. The only negative thing about the hotel is arriving at the front desk. Although accommodating, it's not friendly, not warmly welcoming. I know they probably have no idea how many times I have stayed or how many people I have sent there, but that shouldn't really matter, everyone should be received warmly and welcoming. Even some of the people I have sent there mentioned the same feeling. Which is too bad, because this hotel is really a little gem! And perfect for your visit to disneyland.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with our fellow TripAdvisor readers. I want to let you know that I appreciate your kind words about the hotel. I am sorry to read about your experience with the Front Desk. I have taken this opportunity to speak with my Front Office Manager and partner with him on coaching our Staff. My expectation is that every guest who enters my hotel feels at home and be treated like one of the family. I hope that you will back again soon and give us another chance to share with you an experience more typical of the Candy Cane Inn.

My family has stayed at the Candy Cane Inn 4 times in the year of 2011 and each time has been fantastic. There is nothing i could have to complain about. The breakfast is great and free with items such as variety of bagels, toast, yogurt, donuts, muffins, coffee, and juice. The shuttle is always there on time and is very convienent to get to the park. There are two stores right next to the candy cane, 7-eleven and ABC market. It's very convienent because my family will always go there in the morning and get water bottles and snacks so that we dont have to spend even more money at disney. It saves you quite a few bucks considering a water bottle at disney is $4. The beds are comfortable and the tv's have all the standard channels. Candy Cane even has roll away beds if you have 5 people staying in the room. My brother always gets it and he says it is very comfortable. Whenever me and my family go to Disneyland we never even consider going anywhere else but the Candy Cane. We love it! I was just there a couple of days ago and I cant wait to go back! The Candy Cane Inn is a 5 out of 5. I highly reccomend staying there.

Parking is uncovered at the hotel. The only covered area you might be concerned with is an awning over the entrance to the office for checking in. You can park to the side to enter the office and check in. The property has recently undergone a refurbishment and has new landscaping and trees throughout.
