Good Movie. I had never heard of this movie, but love Scott Glenn, great actor. I waited until some used copies became available and bought it. Really good and interesting movie. Scott Glenn can play good or bad, and a lot of the times he plays bad, but he is a really good actor. I will not spoil the movie, but this is based on a true story and although the main character was questioned in some murders, you are really not sure if he did it or not. But again, he was just questioned and then released due to lack of evidence. The movie comes together nicely and well done.

Scott Glenn's storytelling made this movie watchable for me. The story of a mass murderer in a small town who was arrested but never charged and those who still believed that he was guilty. This lacked the action that I had hoped for when I purchased this dvd. Don't get me wrong there are several killings and fights but not to level that I expected. The script and the story telling was good. The actors were decent and the pacing was good. So the story should hold your attention from start to finish.

I wanted to do a rewrite for this movie, since I have had some time to look at the storyline a little more objectively now.
This is not what you would call a horror flick - it’s more like a crime drama. The plot mainly focuses on John McCormack (played suitably by actor Chris Coy), and his nemesis Francis Allen Visser (played equally suitably by actor Scott Glenn). McCormack is out for revenge (based on what happened to his father), and the two lead characters play a game of cat-and-mouse, each trying to outthink the other one in his next move. The storyline is actually pretty good, and the actors all played their roles pretty well. My only beef with it was, it’s pretty low-key and more designed as a strategy game, not action.
I do prefer horror films over anything else, but once in awhile I can sit through a (decent) sci-fi or thriller, or crime drama (like this one is). I had never heard of Scott Glenn prior to seeing this film, but Chris Coy described him as a ‘veteran actor’ so I don’t know how I’ve missed him all this time. At the end I did a little thinking; I don’t know whether McCormack did the right thing or not, you will just have to make your own judgement call on that one.
Certainly worth a watch if you enjoy the crime drama genre... not a lot of action-filled scenes or hype, but the ‘battle of the minds’ between the two lead characters more than make up for the lack of loud noise (and excessive showiness). This story was displayed in a subtle way, that makes you think about it later - long after you watch the final scene. Good enough!
