The movie was shown way back in 1990. Awakening is about the neurologist trying to figure out a way to wake those people who are affected by encephalitis lethargica. Encephalitis Lethargic is like you are alive but you can’t feel anything, it’s like your brain is sleeping. The story of the movie, Awakening is about the victims of epidemic of encephalitis lethargic that is living in the hospital where Dr. Sayer is working. Dr. Sayer that is casted by Robin Williams, use Leonard Lowe that is casted by Robert de Niro, to be his subject to find the cure to this epidemic. He use this drug Levo-dopa to test if through this drug, it will revive the victims that is affected by the epidemic. The actors who are in this movie, plays their roles well. Especially in the role of Robin Williams as Dr. Sayer and Robert de Niro as Leonard Lowe whose one of the best character in the movie. Dr. Sayer did a great job in the scene where he did not surrender to the possible cure for the epidemic. Whil Leonard Lowe as one of the patient who is experiencing the current epidemic which is the encephalitis lethargica. He really did a great job showing what the epidemic really is. The way they act and their emotions in the movie was just great. The scene that I liked in the movie is the part where Dr. Sayer finally starting to figuring it out how to cure the epidemic. The part where he is examining the old women that is named Lucy, using her eyeglasses. When Dr. Sayer is about to let go of the
