Texas State University Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 6,634 reviews
I’m about to end my second year at Texas State University, and overall I’d give m experience a 9/10. There is not much to complain about, other than the lack of updates and the hills. Be prepared to be sore! Also, they’re always having activities on campus, and even give away free merchandise. Sewell Park is in walking distance, which is a great place to relax in the sun with your friends. The square is also a great place to catch a bite to eat and explore shops on the weekends, or go to the bars at night! The academics quality at Texas State definitely differ on programs. For example, Fine Arts, Nursing, psychology, healthcare, and criminology have great programs and are the main focus of interest at Texas State University. Great School Overall, but definitely tour and do your research.
Nestled in the heart of the dreamy city of San Marcos, Texas State University values both a vibrant campus life and a rigorous academic experience. With its welcoming communities, charming riverfront views, and vibrant downtown scene, it has greatly enhanced the college experience for myself and other students. From floating down the river on a lazy afternoon to exploring the local shops and eateries, life in San Marcos is undeniably relaxing and fun. While the town's lifestyle is undoubtedly appealing, I have come to realize the importance of pushing oneself academically to achieve one's full potential. Texas State University had its own diverse academic programs and commitment to student success, with a platform for students to explore their passions and engage in meaningful pursuits, has motivated me to seize every opportunity to enhance my academic skills. Texas State fosters a sense of belonging and encourages me to embrace a balanced approach to my academic and personal pursuits.
I've only been at Texas State for three months now, but I can say it is absolutely an amazing university that I enjoy attending. The campus is beautiful, especially when the weather chooses to cooperate. The University offers pages that allow you to preview classes before taking them as well as your possible professors which I see as an absolute advantage helping meet many students needs with different teaching styles. For example, if you're bad with tests, you can sign up to take courses with professors that don't grade tests as heavily. I find this university to be a absolutely amazing and welcoming experience so far as a freshman this year!
