Calamity and Its Music

Created by Fabsol and their dev team, the Calamity mod offers a vast amount of new content. It tweaks vanilla features and adds new ones while heavily expanding the base game. You can expect over 30 new bosses, NPCs, biomes, and much, much more. This mod can be brutally challenging, especially if you take on one of its five new difficulty levels. Additionally, the Calamity music mod is an optional addition to add a new soundtrack. It’s intended to be used alongside the Calamity Mod, however, it can be installed on its own or not at all. Either way, these mods are an incredible expansive to the base game, so they’re a great grab for anyone looking for a new and refreshing Terraria experience.

Census is a NPC Checklist created by jopojelly. It modifies the housing panel to show missing NPCs in your town. A simple check mark shows that certain NPC’s spawn conditions have been met, with an x meaning the opposite. You can also hover over Town NPC in the housing menu to see an arrow pointing to their location, so finding them will be much easier. It’s a simple mod, but a very useful one. One that can easily make any run through much more manageable if you like adding NPCs to shop from.

Boss Checklist

The Boss Checklist is a simple and useful mod for Terraria made by SheepishShepherd and jopojelly. It was made to keep you informed of what bosses you’ve taken on and killed. This will keep track of your stats such as the fight duration, hits taken, and a radar for bosses that are offscreen. If that wasn’t enough, it gives you the suggestion of which order to take on each boss. Every tick will be satisfying as you progress through the game. This mod is great if you find yourself questioning which boss you want or need to tackle next.

Ore Excavator

Ore Excavator is a must have mod. It’s a continuation of the veinminer mod by CrazyContraption and Sky for Terraria. It makes it effortless to mine groups of ores, walls, and other tiles at once. It’s the ultimate quality of life improvement. While the default key is tilde, you can set it to something else if preferred. After that, when you find an ore that you want to mine, you just hold down the key and mine a single block and watch as they all are mined for you. It’s an amazing time saver so you can progress a little faster in game. Every second saved can be well spent elsewhere. It’s an amazing mod that definitely deserves to be checked out.

Recipe Browser

The Recipe Browser mod was developed by jopojelly. It’s an incredible utility mod that provides the player with an easy way to explore all the recipes in game. You have a search and filter function to discover recipes. It shows what crafting stations are needed as well as any NPC that drops the selected item. It’s great for traversing crafting trees for items with multiple levels of crafting. Plus, it can be used to craft recipes, even ones that require multiple steps! As a bonus, you can favorite recipes and can track the progress you make with gathering the stuff you need to craft it. In multiplayer, recipes favorited by other players will also appear in the favorites panel. You can track the progress of other players and cooperate efficiently. This mod is extremely useful for those that are experts or simply new to Terraria.

Magic Storage

Developed By The Magic Storage Team, the magic storage mod is a great quality of life mod that brings new content to Terraria. With this simple new storage device, you can clean up all the chests littered amongst your base and access all of your items from a single block. This mod also offers a combined crafting station so you can craft everything you need from the magic storage device. This will leave you to design your base with more decorations instead of chests and tools. As you continue to beat bosses and earn more materials, you’re able to upgrade your storage capacity and crafting device. Essentially, this mod is simply a must have for anyone who doesn’t want to run chest to chest, and instead just wants a central network with a search function, a filter function, and the ability to craft in one spot.

Auto Reforge

Next, we have the Auto Reforge mod. This is a great mod that was developed by Sad Onion. It tweaks the reforge menu with a more complex one. Instead of continuously clicking and possibly missing the modifier, you select the one you want. Now, when you go to the goblin tinkerer, they’ll have a menu for you to put your weapon or accessory in. Whether it be for the best modifier, or if you’re going for a specific one, this mod will make you never want to deal with the vanilla reforge system again.

Auto Trash

The Auto Trash mod was made by jopojelly. Anyone who’s played Terraria can tell you that your inventory will be cluttered with junk and that it’s a constant chore to clear it out. The auto trash mod easily takes care of that. Whenever you pick up something and you really don’t need it, you can just put it on the auto trash list and no more of that item will fill up. Furthermore, you can configure the mod to act as an auto-sell slot. If you sold it to a shop, you’d get twenty percent of it’s worth, so the mod is defaulted to fifteen, however, that’s configurable too. From players who spam bosses to miners that want to keep digging, this mod is one that will change your gameplay for the better.

Better Boss Health Bar

Developed by n0t_UN_Owen and maintained by Setnour6, Better Boss Health Bar is one of the best quality of life mods for Terraria. It greatly improves the vanilla health bar of bosses and is configurable to suit the players needs. It shows the percentage, the max health, and the current health which is always a plus. In addition, there are also three icons at the bottom. The chainmail represents defense, the shield represents knockback resistance, and the sword represents attack damage. At the same time, the mod adds a small visual change where the boss icon flashes red when you get hit. This mod alone is worth having for anyone wanting more information on the bosses they summon.
