"If This Was A Movie" is the sixteenth track from the deluxe edition of American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift’s third studio album, Speak Now, released on October 25, 2010, through Big Machine Records.
Rather than being included on Speak Now (Taylor's Version), the song ended up being released earlier on March 17, 2023, and was featured as part of an EP titled The More Fearless (Taylor's Version) Chapter. The song most likely didn't make it on the album due to it being the only song being co-written (the other writer being Martin Johnson).

On March 16, 2023, to celebrate the beginning of The Eras Tour, Swift announced that the re-recording of "If This Was A Movie" would be released at midnight. The re-recordings of "Eyes Open" and "Safe & Sound", along with a previously unreleased song, "All of the Girls You Loved Before", were released on the same night.[2][3]

- Until the re-record of this song, there was a lyric in the bridge where it remained unknown. in the bridge she says "I've been waiting for you every day since you've been gone", but the 'every day' portion was unclear. many theories to what the lyric was included 'ever', 'weary' and popular Taylor Swift youtuber Swiftologist suggested the lyric was 'baby'.
