Taylor Sheridan Paramount+ Shows & Movies — Complete Lineup - Parade Skip to main content

People can't get enough of Taylor Sheridan. No, really: The creator of Yellowstone has more irons in the fire than Dolly Parton! And there's no sign of him slowing down. In 2021, he extended his existing deal with Paramount by an additional five years, which means he'll be creating content for studio, and specifically content for Paramount+, the old-school studio's streaming site, until 2028.

Prior to creating Yellowstone, Sheridan was (and still is) an actor. He's best known for roles on Veronica Mars and Sons of Anarchy, and you can see him cameo as horse trader Travis Wheatley on Yellowstone. When he's not acting, he's writing. He's written every episode of Yellowstone, plus several screenplays, including Sicario and the Oscar-nominated Hell or High Water.

In addition to Yellowstone, his current series include Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lawmen: Bass Reeves—all of which are streaming on Paramount+. (Due to an "unfortunate" deal made before the launch of Paramount+, Yellowstone is available to stream on Peacock.)

Here's what we know about Taylor Sheridan's shows, including those in production and in development.

Taylor Sheridan Shows

Yellowstone

Yellowstone is still Sheridan's most popular series to date, but it will end after Season 5. The show follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), as they clash with land developers, a neighboring Indian reservation and numerous foes on their quest to protect their legacy and their land.

Mayor of Kingstown

Mayor of Kingstown revolves around Kingstown, Michigan and the only industry that is thriving in the area—the prison system. Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) takes over as "mayor" of Kingstown after the death of his older brother. He'll use any means necessary to get the results he's looking for. The series has been picked up for Season 3, which Renner confirmed began filming in January 2024.

1883

This prequel series to Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family back in the late 19th century as they make their way across the treacherous American West in hopes of a better life. The show was the streamer's most-watched series premiere, up more than double the previous record.

The show didn't get a traditional Season 2. After the Season 1 finale, executive producer David Glasser told The Hollywood Reporter that the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 would be the second season of 1883 and that it "was always intended to be."

1923

1923, the technical second season to 1883, is another Yellowstone spinoff series which takes place in, you guessed it, 1923. The series, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, follows the Duttons during the Prohibition era and the Great Depression, and features present-day John Dutton's parents and grandparents. This first season is available on Paramount+ and the second season, while greenlit, has yet to air.

Tulsa King

Previously known as Kansas City, Tulsa King stars Sylvester Stallone in his first major TV role. Stallone plays Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a low-level but loyal mobster who is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he is released after serving 25 years in prison. This fish-out-of-water drama, which was renewed for a Season 2 in April 2023, finds Stallone's character trying to navigate the drug trade in a town with legalized marijuana and hipsters. Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza and Jay Will round out the cast.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Lawmen: Bass Reeves, previously known as 1883: Bass Reeves, is a limited series that follows the story of the real U.S. Deputy Marshal in the 1800s. Bass Reeves is considered by many as one of the greatest Black lawmen that ever lived. David Oyelowo stars along with Dennis Quaid and Donald Sutherland. Bass Reeves premiered Nov. 5 on Paramount+.

Special Ops: Lioness

A fact-based drama series about two agents in a U.S. undercover female operative program. Zoe Saldana stars as Joe alongside Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman with the latter serving as one of the executive producers.

Yellowstone and 1883 alum Dave Annable, who played John Dutton's eldest son Lee on Yellowstone, plays Joe's husband, Neil. LaMonica Garrett from 1883 plays CIA operative Tucker while frequent Sheridan-verse actor James Jordan is CIA operative Two Cups. Jordan has had roles on 1883, Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown, and has also appeared in several of Sheridan's feature films.

Frequent-Hallmark Channel actress Jill Wagner also serves as executive producer and starred as Bobby in Season 1. The show premiered July 23 on Paramount+. No word yet on whether it's been renewed for Season 2 but signs are looking promising.

Upcoming Taylor Sheridan Shows

The following shows are in development or in production for Paramount+.

2024

Following the shocking news that Yellowstone would end with Season 5, Paramount announced yet another new spinoff likely called 2024.

Matthew McConaughey will lead the series that promises to expand on the story of the Dutton family.

The new series will "take audiences on a thrilling, new and unexpected journey with the complex and compelling storytelling that has become a hallmark of the franchise and has helped turn it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon—thanks to the creative mastermind of Taylor Sheridan.”

No plot details are available except that it's expected to begin airing following the conclusion of Yellowstone.

“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world,” said David Glasser, CEO, 101 Studios.

Land Man

Upcoming series Land Man is based off the popular podcast "Boomtown" about the West Texas oil boom. Billy Bob Thornton will star as Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for an oil company. Demi Moore and Jon Hamm recently joined Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie and Paulina Chavez in the star-studded cast.

Land Man's Paramount+ release date hasn't been revealed yet.

6666

Set at the famed Four Sixes Texas ranch in Texas, 6666 is another Yellowstone prequel spinoff. “Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666," a release from Paramount said of the new series. "Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.”

No premiere date has been announced, but the second half of Yellowstone Season 5 is coming in November 2024. Although it hasn't been confirmed, we're also expecting 6666 to premiere on Paramount some time in 2024.

1944

Plot details are scant at this point but it's safe to assume 1944 will tackle real-life problems (possibly World War II) of the 1940s much like 1923 was set in the Depression era. Perhaps we'll see some Duttons go off to war. Or maybe U.S. military operations will move into the wide open west, threatening the Dutton family's way of life.

1944's Paramount+ release date hasn't been revealed yet.
