I called today and asked about a vehicles availability.

I called today and asked about a vehicles availability. I was told yes it is here but in inspection and service dept. u was told that vehicles sale fast. I explained I was about 2 hours away. The girl I talked to contacted the manager and called me back and said yes it is here not on lot yet. So we made an appointment at that moment to come in so I could see the vehicle. I left immediately drove the 2 hours there walked in front door was greeted by a salesman. My name was in the board for my appointment I told him my name and what car I wanted to see and that I was told it was in service dept. he checked said yes let me go get they just finished putting a new mirror on the vehicle. He brought truck around front took a copy of my driver license. I checked the vehicle out. Asked some questions then we took it for a test drive. After test drive I told him let’s do it we looked at my credit score with is ver good. He said let me talk to manager and we will go to finance. I went to get a cup of coffee as he went to see manager. I got my coffee went to restroom when I walked back out into showroom he walked in front door and said a guy just bought it sorry. After driving 9ver 2 hours they treated me like this and then I had to drive another 2 and a half hours home. What a bunch of 🫏’s. They didn’t even offer to do anything what so ever.

Zero stars wasn’t an option.

Zero stars wasn’t an option. Don’t you think it would be wise to check the availability status of a vehicle that you schedule an appointment for before the customer shows up? The truck I came into purchase wasnt even on the campus because it’s being used by employee who is on vacation. This would have great to know before I wasted my time driving 40mins to find this out. When I showed up for my appointment, there was no one available, people were scrambling around trying to find someone. I have a truck that I am looking to trade that no one looked at. No one took my information to call me when this truck become available again. I was basically turned away. No ownership doesn’t change poor service. Absolutely terrible service once again by this dealership.

Sold! But not to you!

Giving 1 star because Zero stars was not an option. Drove 3.5 hours to look at a used truck with/for my son. Nice truck. Asked about price but salesperson and manager had no interest in really dealing. Fair enough... we left. Only for an automated website to lower the price on a Sunday while dealership was closed to get us to the price. My son reached out to the salesperson to let them know he'll take the truck and would provide deposit needed first thing Monday. Salesperson confirmed receipt of the message but did nothing on Monday morning. A done deal so we thought. Dealership never called so my son called back only to find out they were selling to someone else! I called to speak to 2 managers, left a vm and never heard back. I am very aware how this process works but how do you call yourself a #1 dealership with practices like this? Shady way of doing business. Shameful.

Bait and Switch Stay AWAY

Stay Away. We were given a test drive in a fully loaded AWD Blazer. We were happy with it but wanted red. We were told, "Same exact car just red". 1st issue, the price that you agreed to is only for GMC employees, which we were not. They tried to make it right, by giving us extra money for our trade in, but still our payment went up by $25 per month. It was about 8pm and we signed all the paperwork, and received our car. We got home, and surprise surprise, but no All Wheel Drive, in fact there was half the features of the test drive car. We have bought 3 cars in the past 12 years when this was Sweeney, the new owners should be ashamed. They treated us like garbage. I have told EVERYONE I know to go anywhere but here. Please note, I even let the salesman know ahead of time about my review and I was ghosted by them. They messed up, they know it, and they have done nothing to make it right.

Wonderful team

Found a used Kia online and called. Brittany, our salesperson, was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. After driving over 200 miles to pick up the car, we found out the trailer wiring wasn’t working. Devin from the service department spent well over an hour diagnosing and replacing the wiring ( no additional cost). Both Devin and Brittany made our experience pleasant and they gave us top notch service.

Poor repair job receipt denied.

Bought a car paid for passenger door repair before buying. They only repaired part of the door. Promised a receipt. Took the car back to finish the repair. No receipt. The used car sales manager was rude. Door had indents and looks waves.

They don't stand behind their "certified" vehicles

If you're buying a USED car, DON'T go to Sweeney. One week to the day of bringing home my daughter's "CERTIFIED" (LOL) used vehicle, the battery DIED. I had to call my insurance company's roadside assistance twice PLUS pay $40 of my own money to have the car towed to Sweeney to see what was wrong. It was an OLD, USED-UP, NEVER-REPLACED BATTERY in this "CERTIFIED" vehicle. Sweeney charged me $201 for a new battery on a car that they obviously never really looked at closely enough to certify the battery. They DO NOT stand behind their used cars. I was advised by someone NOT to go here, and I didn't listen. LESSON LEARNED. I have dealt with many dealers. My husband and I have three driving daughters, so we have 5 cars in the family. I have bought new and used, all American-made cars. We have two three GM products and two Ford products in our family. I will NEVER shop at Sweeney again for a new or used car.

Bad Experience

Purchased a certified used truck in early March. I probably could’ve done a better job at detailing, and the gas tank wasn’t full. A month later we go to use the AC for the first time, and it doesn’t work. We were told we have to use the warranty which has a $100 deductible to get it checked out. So we were sold an unclean car with half a tank of gas and no working AC, but now have to pay out of pocket to get it looked at after having it for 1 month. No one went over the truck with us either. After we signed the paperwork we were given the key and sent on our way. We had to go in to ask about the trailer brake - a salesman came out, told us it was a trailer brake and went back inside. I assume if someone had gone over the truck it’s us we would’ve known before we left that it has a defunct AC. Bummed that this ended up being such a poor experience, as my father has bought from Sweeney for years.

Dealer response

Hey Kali! Thanks so much for reaching out to us. We're terribly sorry that your purchase has been difficult. Every year thousands of people choose to buy their vehicle from us, and we hate when something goes wrong. Unfortunately the amount of your deductible is set by the warranty company, again - we're terribly sorry that this happened. If you'd like to chat more about this issue, please give us a call at 330-SWEENEY, or email us at marketing@sweeneycars.com.
