Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
So far both shows I have watched are amazing. Sundance Now has some wonderful choices for entertainment. Riviera is awesome.. I watched both seasons in a week and I can’t wait for Season 3.. The Restaurant is a Swedish series which is similar in many ways to Downtown Abbey.. I thought the subtitles would bother me but they are fine and it is interesting to hear the Swedish language...The story is definitely keeping my attention and I’m enjoying it a lot ..I will keep Sundance Now as long as they keep putting on great shows like these!
I absolutely LOVE the Sundance Now selection. Being in the US, there are shows that only air in Europe that I can watch and that's great. What I couldn't handle, was being billed multiple times in a month. I signed up for the $6.99/monthly subscription, very economical for what you get. But a month or so in, I was billed twice in 1 month. I brought this to their attention, followed their instructions to no avail, and I got "a free month" (that I never ended up seeing). The next month I kept getting emails that my payment had "failed", even though they were automatically deducted from my account as usual. I kept trying to contact customer service and only got automatically generated responses. When I finally did get a human response, they were no help. I ended up having my card charged SIX times that month. They wouldn't help me cancel or refund. I got so mad I emailed them in all caps demanding cancellation and promising a review of their horrible customer service. Well, here it is.
I have an annual subscription to Sundance Now. App quits when trying to load on Roku. It does not load content on FireTV and AppletV including menus for Series, Movies, Collections. Very odd it works on a browser in a PC under Windows 10 and on IOS (iPhone). This started in June. In September started to work again. Fingers crossed. Contacting Sundance now support <support@sundancenow.com> is a hit or miss. Most of the time I get a "Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups" email. When able to contact, no practical solution is given. Sundance Now is part of AMC, however AMC Premiere which I subscribe works great. Will cancel my Sundance Now subscription as can't get help from Customer Service and two months without access to programming.
So far I like all the shows I’ve watched but not sure if they have more content when you pay vs the free trial. I don’t see very much to last a year and most of the shows have 2 stars. I’m hoping these won’t disappoint. I loved Liar and hope there’s another season. I also liked Riviera but not sure how this can go on. Second season wasn’t as good.
If you add the Sundance Now APP via your Prime Account and link it to your FireTV, you can ONLY access Sundance Now selections via the TV loaded APP or your Amazon Prime account. If you want to access Sundance Now on a desktop computer or on a SmartTV hub to browse and select things to watch you must sign up for Sundance Now via their WebSite. Once you do that Sundance Now requires you to sign-up and pay for the service, either monthly or annually (after a 7 day free trial). And, if you have added Sundance Now as an add-on subscription via Prime, Amazon will collect a monthly subscription fee. While your e-mail address may be the same for both Amazon and Sundance Now--these two providers do not cross-reference e-mail billing addresses and just both continue to charge you. In my case I paid Sundance Now for an annual subscription in advance--assuming--that they would notify Amazon--which never happened. Neither Sundance Now nor Amazon Prime advise you that if you sign up with them individually you will be charged twice. They--both Amazon an Sundance Now--have NO internal controls to prevent customer double billings (i.e. same e-mail on two accounts, both being billed monthly). I discovered, by pure dumb luck that I was being double billed for the service since 2017. I paid Sundance Now in advance for 2017 to 2018 and again for 2018 to 2019. While Amazon prime kept charging me every moth via my Prime Account. Apparently what causes this is that Amazon Prime buys the Sundance Now service and then re-bills the customer as a subscription. Sundance Now--so they claim--only bill one e-mail A/C, the one used for the Sundance Now WebSite. Sundance Now also bills Amazon directly--in bulk--I assume. A further, CAUTION, Amazon Digital Services monthly billings for subscriptions do not notify you in advance of the charge--you will not get a monthly e-mail notification of the charge for digital content. Amazon subscriptions for products on the other hand will send an e-mail when the item ships or is being re-ordered. Not so with digital content. You will only get an e-mail confirming your sign-up and nothing further. Rather the amount only posts to your CC and appears as Amazon Digital Services with an amount. So unless you are double and triple checking your monthly CC statement and back-checking to see what it represents--you--like me will probably miss it. Also, the "Manage Your Subscription" menu on your Amazon Prime does not included a billing summary nor can you determine from the Amazon account what your monthly subscription charge is. Last, and not least, Sundance Now has absolutely NO Customer Service. You can only reach them by e-mail, and trust me, they do not respond. Thus far I have been double billed by both Amazon Digital Services and Sundance Now for 2 years for almost $300. I had a lengthy discussion with Amazon Customer Service who did confirm that they have numerous instances of double billing but have thus far not changed the methods, procedures or customer notifications to protect customer from this situation. Shocking and disappointing to say the least. At least you can speak to someone at Amazon--Sundance Now is a black silent hole.
I download the app from Amazon and paid for a year, started watching some stuff on Amazon Prime, Netflix then went back to Sundance Now and kept getting the message 'it seems you are not one of us'. May 23rd I put in a ticket with my complaint, it's Covid-19 times so it took a few days but I got a response, not one I was expecting, they said it was resolved because I cancelled on March 21st but that was the day I signed up. A few back and forth emails resulting in the fact they updated their app and my account didn't make it through that update. I was told to delete my app in amazon and resign up after I sent pictures proving I paid. I'm back in with money rebated and lost time extended. Whenever I got an email about what was on Sundance. Now I responded with my problem of not being able to get in to watch. It was about a week of this which isn't so bad. Sign up through their webpage, it will make customer response so much easier.
I love the Sundance film festival, and have spent time watching movies offered there, back in the dark ages of 1978. We've come a long way, baby, and so have they! So this and the other Sundance channel offer plenty of original moves and content, along with old series, and those quickly movies from the actual film festival. Those are the best, even if they aren't always easy to find.
This channel sometimes sticks, I unplug my firestick when that happens, problem solved!
THEY ARE ALL OK I HAVE A PC NOT AN ANDROID SO I HOPE IT WILL WORK JUST AS WELL JUST ABOUT ALL OF THESE IF YOU SUBSCRIBE AND PAY A PRICE (THEY VARY FROM APP TO APP) ANYWHERE FROM 3.00 TO 20.00 NOT TOO CRAZY ABOUT THAT THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ADVERTISING BUT HEY ITS FREE SO........IT ONE OF THE CHEAPER ONES IN COST I THINK IT IS WORTH IT
I wish I could give it a 0 star rating if I could. This does not have very interesting movies and shows. I signed up for the 7-day free trial and when I didn’t like any of the shows or movies I tried to cancel it, but it was nearly impossible to cancel. I got very frustrated and called their customer service and I just wanna let everyone know I was told you just delete it from my fire tv stick and the trial is canceled. This was not at all Amazons fault and all the reviews blaming amazon is not accurate. If you read the terms and services of the app, Sundance Now, it says if you wish to cancel the free trial simply delete the app and you will not be charged. Just wanted to let everyone know it’s a boring app and a waist of money so this is how you CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION for Sundance Now.
Had never even heard of Sundance Now before, but now that I have it it's great! Love that it specializes in thrillers/police dramas/etc. - my favorite type of shows. Wish they had an app that was simpler to download though - have had many technical difficulties across various platforms while trying to use it.
