Arena and Rushing Guide

Guide

https://youtu.be/GSYCPrBvdeY

Hey guys, welcome to my Arena Rushing guide!

This is going to hopefully be a pretty in depth guide and mainly tailored for people that want to break into Conqueror arena or generally improve their arena rankings. While a lot of the information and teams here will be the same at Guardian ranks, the difficulty does increase significantly.

So we’ll be going over all kinds of meta offenses, defenses, targeting slash rush hour break down, and a few tips/tricks.

Now let’s jump straight into the meta offenses. It's important to note that there are two types of offenses, with various subtypes, that is cleaving and bruiser arena offenses (or AO for short).

Within the branch of cleaves, we generally have the following:

  • Lushen cleaves

  • Speed cleaves

  • Dots cleaves

  • Bomber cleaves

  • Slow cleaves

Lets break down each cleave, starting with Lushen cleaving. There are three versions of this cleave, fat lushen, double lushen and quad lushen.

  • Fat Lushen teams consist of either a 33% lead or Attack lead followed by a primary booster and either Teon/Konamiya or a secondary booster if your lushen is faster enough. This team is stronger the better your lushen is, but I would recommend avoiding this team at lower ranks as it is difficult to make a lushen hit hard enough to cleave most AOs nowadays. If you can make a lushen able to hit at least 13K+ then this is an option, but you’ll want to make sure you can speed tune your teon/konamiya to your primary booster.

  • Double lushen teams are one of the best ways to cleave most stall defenses, even those that have several fire units as the raw damage output is very high. This usually incorporates either double boosters with a damage lead like Bernard or a speed lead with a single booster. In either case, you’d have to run high speed swift Lushens to avoid getting cut by double nemesis healers. The idea of this team is that you’d be running two 8K+ Lushens (or the faster one even weaker to decrease nemesis cutting) dealing at least 48K damage in total to each enemy.

  • Quad lushen teams are composed of a Jamire lead, Bastet and double lushen. This team is a very very strong stall team killer but can be easily outsped. You will need to speed tune your lushens to a single booster and preferably be on will. Jamire will have to go immediately after your Lushens and it helps to have him on high resistance and will to avoid being stripped/stunned by junos.

Now that the all powerful Lushen cleaves are out of the way, let’s get into speed cleaves. All these teams consist of a similar premise, but the team can vary greatly depending on your box. The goal is to not only to out speed the enemy team, but also to cleave. So you will need things like a strip, speed lead, buffs, defense break and your damage dealer. There are hundreds of different combinations, but here are just a few. Please note that generally all these run into a similar issue of potentially being outsped or stalled out without enough damage.

  • Chiwu (L), Savannah, Charlotte, Bernard

  • Chiwu (L), Galleon, Charlotte, Pungbaek

  • Gemini (L), Dark Homunculus, Galleon, Leah

  • Psamathe (L), Bernard, Bastet, Alicia

  • Akhamamir(L), Clara, Luer, Lagmaron

  • Shimate(L), Iselia, Bastet, Beth

With that being said, we’re moving onto Dot cleave teams. These are pretty effective and can be very easy to build for early to mid game players. There are effectively a few variants, depending if you want to take the first turn, then strip into dots or run a slow second turn team so you don’t need a stripper if they don’t bring immunity. You will want to bring either a reset unit, tatu or a hard CC if they have a cleanser.

  • Akia (L), Tiana, Sath, +1 Dotter

  • Verad (L), Clara, Sath, +1 Dotter

  • Tyron (L), Sath, +2 Dotters

Bomber teams are very similar to dot teams, but it would be ideal to take the first turn. Carrack, but ideally Seara would be needed to blow up dots to avoid them being cleansed or killing units like Triana and Juno. With units like Molly being used a lot more in arena defense, this is actually one of my favorite offenses.

  • Chiwu (L), Ganymede, Fran, +1 AOE Bomber

  • Seara (L), Clara, Bastet, +1 AOE Bomber

  • Fran (L), Triton, +2 AOE Bombers

Last of the cleave teams would be the slow cleave or 2nd turn cleave team. These teams are built intentionally slow to burn units and often filled to the brim with double shield/will. The most common 2nd turn cleave team would be the Tiana/Galleon cleave, which is pretty reliable up until high conqueror ranks as teams with strippers counter this team. Tiana does not have to be used, but is the most reliable in terms of not only stripping but speed tuning.

  • Alicia (L), Zaiross, Galleon, Tiana

  • Akia (L), Julie, Galleon, Clara

Moving onto bruiser teams, there are a few common teams but mainly these consist of just very HP or Defense tanky units that are able to tank and spank ADs, or out sustain them. While these teams are very effective at low conqueror arena and early rush hour, they are not recommended to finish up rush hour with as they usually take a lot of time to clear. A couple of the common bruiser teams are

  • Leo (L), triple Skogul or double Skogul with an Amelia. Very effective against teams with squishy units, little sustain or only one form of control. It can easily be busted through by Pernas or high control teams. Also very good against teams with beast riders.

  • Xing She (L), Molly, Vigor +1. Strong into almost any kind of arena defense, as long as there isn’t too much attack bar control and heal break. Only real downside is just the ungodly amount of time it takes to clear defenses.

Now onto meta arena defenses, there are hundreds of thousands of possible combinations so on screen I’ll show a few common ones I’ve seen while we talk about the different types of defenses.

  • Stall, typically designed to be anti-lushen by having a lot of damage reduction, revives, or other tricky passives designed to survive a lushen S3. One down side is typically these are able to be easily double lushen’d, but a double nem/will healer like Ariel or Praha can prevent this if fast enough. Even if the point is just to stall, you will want a fire threat to deal with killing the Lushen so he doesn’t get another S3 off eventually.

    • Xing She (L), Molly, Vigor +1 Fire Threat

    • Halphas (L), Triana, Jeanne, +1 Fire Threat

    • Vanessa (L), Harmonia, Triana, +1 Fire Threat

  • Speed, Strip and Control (or SSC for short), these teams are designed to take first turn with either 33 or 24 speed lead, a stripper like triton or clara and then some form of control, typically Jeanne. You will need to have both a fast stripper and control unit, in order to disrupt the enemy speed tuning and win.

    • Vanessa (L), Clara, Savannah, +1 Damage or Control

    • Psamathe (L), Triton, Jeanne, +1 Fire Threat

    • Halphas (L), Triton, Bellanus, +1 Support

    • Seara (L), Iselia, Rica, +1 Support or Control

So now we can move onto targeting, which is basically just knowing what you can or cannot hit. A majority of this you’ll learn as you do arena throughout the week, but here are the basics:

  • If you’re only pushing for C1, then focus on having ONE good AO and learn the ins and out of what you can or cannot hit. At C2, try for at least 3 different AOs.

  • Best way to secure points is to clear the bottom three of your list then refresh as these offer the biggest point gain.

  • 30 minutes before rush hour ends, it helps to switch up your AD incase someone is farming you and then again 10 minutes before it ends to a super stall team.

  • If you’re using a slow or second turn team, then you want to avoid the SSC teams and look for any team that is either stall or has no follow up even if they do outspeed, such as Woosas or Frans.

  • If you don’t have will on your lushen, then I’d highly recommend to avoid teams with amduats or antares, as they can lucksack hard.

  • Any ADs that you see with Leo, you can freely get first turn with a double nemesis/will megan at 5* even if it is a Leo/Lucifer team.

Hopefully someone finds this little guide useful!

I would add that hitting the bottom players on the list are far more beneficial than hitting the top players on the list since the bottom players are higher ranked. Refresh after hitting the bottom 3-5 will help a lot with ranking up faster.

Ah yes, thank you! I mentioned that in the video but forgot to add that to the notes

Hey, I would love some insights from you on my comps!

I rushed yesterday and got to c2, but I keeps on derping on my choices so i missed c3 by 1-2 hits.

I'm currently using Woly (swift/will +172spd) , bernard (swift +208), lushens 11-12k amps (will+speed tuned)

I'm struggling against what to do against mihos.

i'm thinking of build either 2nd turn cleave with tiana, but theres so much clara and praha on ADs now.

-------
My AD was Halphas, miho, juno, rakan. I got hit about 3 times during rush hour.

Thats such a great and premium double lushen team! So you only need +110 speed for the Wolyung to be speed tuned to Bernard of that speed so I'd nerf her speed a bit and get her on SPD/Atk/Atk or HP as fast as you can with some damage artifacts.

This will allow her to hard counter Miho using S3 (with no CR) and help against Junos + any remaining monsters

I will def lower her speed then.

I also saw that fran, triton, 2 dovers was one of the bomb comp. any insight on that?

Well +2 AOE bombers, but the main reason Triton isn't used in AD is not because his strip is inconsistent.. his AI is just dogwater. On AO, this isn't an issue and you can take it against 24%+Claras or non-speed lead teams in general

Mainly you'd be targeting stall defenses though (especially Xing She, Molly, Vigor teams.. consider it the free-est win)

Thank you so much and I'm also watching your video. A fat thumb up from me.

And woly, triton, 2 bombers would be more ideal compared to using fran?

Do you think G1+ arena is possible without rushing? I go to bed at a really awkward time, like 5-6 hours before rush and can't really change that due to work commitments and have just accepted that I'll never manage that red star :p

Not unless you have a very very strong defense with some insane runes, there's only a handful of consistent G3/Legend arena players that I know that can do this but they run like 33 speed lead (L), Woonsa, Tian Lang +1

I was debating on doing rush hour for people on stream, if youre interested join our discord and I'll hit you up if I do

on global at least, even if im in g3 ranks like 4h before rush hour starts, im c3 in the next morning. I assume your located in europe like me. I made it into the G-ranks when i once had a free monday and decided to rush, other than that i prefer my sleep over rushing ;)

Nope, I'm on global aswell but you can get pretty lucky with it sometimes.

Someone just posted on the SW USA Facebook group about them getting G1 by stopping rank 114 at 2hrs before rush and they ended rank 161.

Bad LND4 reward, Daylight Savings, TOA Rush; its like the stars aligned for them haha

What does daylight savings mean?

Nice Guide! The nem megan counter against leo teams didnt come to mind, so i appreciate it^^

Whats your take on how to beat shaina martina + 33 leader + molly/triana fast? Im not struggling to beat it but i struggle to beat it fast. my current counter is based off of the siege counter: light tank (in my case i can use akroma here), aegir, elucia, sian.

do you outspd + zaiross cleave it? or what u do?

Typically, I would just outspeed it with my chubby lushen (hes a Fat lushen that can also slightly jog).

If that was not an option for me then I would actually use a bomb team against it as even if 33%+Shaina is usually VERY fast.. I feel like most 24%+Chiwu leads should be able to outspeed.

hm yea... but i get the slight feeling that 24spd lead into 33lead shaina could be very risky xD

Thats fair lmao, it can be risky but I would feel more comfortable losing to outspeed than pure vio procs tbh

oh its rather easy to outtank them with a nice light tank. since they´re super fast and most of the time super tanky (cuz of siege), they lack atk pretty much. as for now my light tanks i use against them successfully are: akroma (cheatcode ik), +30k molly and +48k eshir (yes, his hp can be lowered to +40k too, doesnt have to be that high). i also have a +35k hp bella but i couldnt test him out yet. but bella in general is very nice against them, even better than eshir cuz of his atkbar increase and heal that doesnt buff you (cuz eshirs buffs can be stolen so its hard to pinpoint when to heal and when not). my last light tank is shamann which is currently on his way to lvl 40, so not much experience here :D i just know that he can be used successfully too. how successful compared to the others is another question ^^'

Great guide! I'd add Mo Long(L), Perna, Feng Yan, Tetra to the list of Bruiser teams. Lots of heals and semi-cleanse with Tetra. I used it all the way up to G2 yesterday...finished rank 89 Global. AD was Halphas(L), Triton, Bellenus, Jeanne. Switched to Fire M. Bison(L), Triana, Molly, Halphas for the last 15 minutes. That stall def didn't do well...lol.

Tetra is such a sleeper pick against SSC teams, especially if they only have one control or damage like Jeanne or Savannah!

u/Rover2418 avatar

Yeah she is super underrated, and that's saying a lot because I think that a lot of people actually use her. You gotta load up on the damage reduction from wind artifacts though...some Savannahs hit hard! She really handles Jeanne + Rica/Bellenus well.

thx

Thanks for the post!

I feel like arena has become much harder after artifacts. My 15.3k per card fat lushen has a lot of trouble killing ariels and prahas now due to damage reduction artifacts. I guess i'll just have to keep grinding!

My highest finish is c3. I'm hoping to get guardian one day.

My highest finish is G2, but I think my chubby lushen doesn't hit quite as hard as yours. Knowing how to rush, what to hit, a good defense and some variety in your AO helps a lot

I look forward to seeing you join the red star club, with that kind of Lushen then you're not far haha

Thanks! Yeah if I had psamathe I think i could do it easily, but vanessa for AO isn't not too great. I think i need to build a will lushen and use it in some sort of double lushen team.

Thanks for the advice!

I would add to the bomber team, one of the best new bomber team to date for high hp defense, like Fire M.bison lead + 3 tank, Seara aquilla + double aoe bomber.

Thats a great one! I'll add it. I do wish I had a seara lol

u/tidehunter1 avatar

Seara Aquilla + 2 AOE Bomber

This looks for high rune requirements to speed tune them.

What I don’t understand is why so many people cleave. Like you should only cleave if you have god tier runes. You can very easily get to G1 while using bruiser teams. If you can’t get to at least c3 with a cleave team then you should definitely be using bruiser teams.

For me its preference really

I dont have the sanity to watch the enemy team vio proc hundreds of times and slowly take me down lol. But my box is also mainly cleave oriented

i have a good LD ad so i can bruiser to g1 but i find it hard to bruiser to g2 when my AO takes about 5-8 minutes to finish (mo long amelia bolverk vigor/gany/feng)

how do i get g2

my bastet is 293 speed and i have 12k card fat lushen. also have psam

When you rush do you crystal refresh list for the bottom 3? Those offer the most points so it'll be your best things to hit.

G2 Bruiser rushing is hard, if youre thinking of switching to cleaving then I would suggest building a Double Lushen team with that fast of a Bastet. Running a single fat lushen is very hard at that high as even with a 16K Lushen I'm most of the time only killing a unit on a team.

You could run like Bastet, Purian, Double Lushen. The Purian would have to be like +138 and the Lushens technically only +56, but having much faster (like spd/cd/atk like +100 speed) would almost deny double nem healers completely and you only need 70% CR

I run psamathe (L) kabilla bastet lushen and it works pretty well against all those triton ADs. My kabilla is just +197 so 317 speed and my bastet swift will +198, lushen swift will +98 and psamathe just before lushen to hopefully reset anything annoying (mostly other non will psamathe) before killing them with amputation.

I even hit clara, some vanessa defs and pernas depending on the rest of the team.

Be careful, technically that team is not speed tuned. You'd need +110 Lushen to not get cut so its a bit risky at guardian ranks

Yeah it's rare but I got cut a few times... I can make my lushen a bit quicker but it will be harder to speed up psamathe... I have to remember to try during the big march frr ! Thanks for the advice, I've been thinking about taking sw optimizer pro for the frr, that should help !

And I'm just c3 arena Europe server (for reference).

Thank you so much. How do I deal with 33 Speed lead if I don't have it? I mean the psamathe tiriton +2, or Water ryu + fast booster or vennesa Tiana/Triron. ?

Your best bet is to use a bruiser team. Take a look at their main damage or control, then figure out the counter to it and pair with enough supports to either sustain or burst

Examples: Only control is Jeanne? Bring Tetra or Veramos Only damage is Savannah? Bring Leo

A tank for their damage dealer (or strong bruiser) and a Triana works too. Say they have a Barbara? Bring like a Laika or Fire Panda to tank their damage and Triana to ensure they don't die, then a few other bruiser.

Hey, im consistently at c3 (asia server) but finding it next to impossible to snag my red star (best finish rank 415). I have a good vareity of offences including Fat Lushen, Leo Bastet and double Lushen and my new favourite of Tiana Rica Gany Sath. Between those I can hit most defences safely.

My issue i think is defence. Midweek im using Psama Clara Rica Bellenus which works pretty wrll but very low success rate in rush. Any guidance on a good defence i can use to stall out? Link to my box below

@lordMaxxus thanks so much. Try this one?

I would try Xing She, Vigor, Kaki, Triana. Bonus points Vigor is fast with high HP on Vio/Nem. Triana is super thick with high resistance.

Also, if youre gonna use a SSC team.. I'd highly recommend Vanessa over Psamathe. Like Vanessa, Clara, Qitian and Bellenus is super good, but don't forget you need something almost as fast as Clara to follow up because shit doesn't offer anything aside from a stun that isn't very reliable. Vanessa, Clara and Bellanus are all likely to survive a 33 lead + Lushen amp but Bellanus defense breaking into a Qitian AOE control with atk buff because of Vanessa is a free win.

Man this guide is really nice. Hope can find some time to form my team. I am planning to climb Guardian as hard as I can coz I am a trying hard guy lol, currently C2 for a long time.

G1 rush is rough, my biggest advice to you is to set a decent defense at the start of rush hour.. sit at high C2/low C3 right as it starts then wait until 30minutes into Rush hour then push.

G1 Guardian isn't about hitting a lot or anything; you want to be smart on when you appear on other people's list that are rushing, limiting people hitting you with a stall defense and make sure you only attack defenses you are sure to win. Losing offenses is the #1 reason why I see people fail their rushes, yes, hitting the bottom 3 on your list is important but not at the cost of losing.

Kudos for this thorough guide! Well done and very much appreciated. Aloha

What do you think about the strategy to ignore players on your History list? Thought being, if they farmed you once and your revenge, they will farm you again so no net gain. Exception would be last 1-2 minutes where they may not have time to re-farm you.

I typically ignore my list, unless they are high ranked players. So if you're going for G1-G2 and you see someone in the top 20~ that you can beat it easily, then I'd take the free points. Even if they revenge you back.. since you're lower than them the net gain is in your favor.

At lower ranks, like C2-C3, then you can revenge any one you know is high up for free points too.

Otherwise (for like C1), I'd just avoid it since its more of a hassle than its worth. It's a nice boost but not the end of the world if you dont do it.

Hello. I’m trying to hit C1 hopefully in the next couple of weeks and was interested in trying the “halphas, Tirana, Jeanne” AD and I was looking for your thoughts on who is should/could use as the fire threat. I have Perna, Helena, kahli, kaki, and ken. Thank you for an amazing guide!

Kahli and Kaki are usually too low HP cus of their base HP that a single lushen crit might kill them.

Perna and Helena are really good options, so its mostly which you can rune better.

Ken isn't typically built tanky enough to survive a lushen or have an anti-death mechanic.. so I wouldn't particularly recommend, unless he had some nutty runes

Great. Thank you so much !!

What do you think about Malaka (L) Blushen slow Aquila +1? I haven't seara/any spd lead even 24% but I was thinking about Herteit as he is my Ld5 and I want to do a AO with him.

Hertiet would be stronger in more of a bruiser AO, I'd try something like Fran, Loren, Hertiet, +1 Bruiser

For that bomb team, you'd probably want some kind of ATB increase, bomb blower upper (Carrack/Hyanes), or cooldown preferably like Gany but Dark Homu would work too. Though I would not recommend Blueshen for cleaving as his bomb multiplier is very low (240%? vs 420% of most other bombers)

u/Lobe_ avatar

The idea for blushen is take advantage on 100% acc by pasives stats. Also I haven't any other bomber XD. Do you think than +2700 attack it's not will be enough? I haven't did him 6* yet but it will be like this (12acc):

https://i.gyazo.com/e59dea77da7ea8f208b87b70911ae0aa.png

That's a very similar blue-shen to the one I sometimes run:

https://gyazo.com/985b2c57380d33cb33e80c5a5bcc0771

In all honesty, you'd be better off running another bomber with slot 6 accuracy than Blueshen (if you can hit like 50%+ without this then even better). His multiplier just that low that he does less damage wth attack buff than my dover without attack buff and much less attack..

Why does nobody give love to the god Lushen team? Psama/Alicia/Raki, Bastet, Imesety, God Lushen. Only need high 60% CR and tons of CD/Atk. I personally use this team and without any arena boosts he does around 17k/card, pretty much destroys everything.

Base speed of Bastet mainly, with a lot of SSC teams in guardian arena its pretty common to get outsped vs Clara/Triton

Additionally, the rune requirement is insanely higher than running double lushen or fluffer + lushen against stall teams.

You'd only want to take it against like 24% + Claras SSC teams, as even 24%+Triton has +7 more speed than Bastet

More replies

how many cards per dmg that lushen can be considered 'fat' ?

Thank you this helps

Just to clarify, when you say that Lushen needs to hit 13k+, does that mean with the attack buff, or raw? I've seen people use them interchangeably.

With attack buff

A lot of defense units at high conqueror and guardian are running at least +25K bonus HP (about 35K total), with artifacts and everything even 13K per card is cutting it close most of the time.

Okay that's what I thought. Mine hits for 12.8 right now, with the atb, so I just wanted to see if I was close, or if you were talking about unbuffed and I was leagues away haha

Is Wind MK, Ariel, Abellio and Rakan good Rush Hour Defense?

Yes, just note you want Ariel on double nem will with high HP and low defense. Wind MK needs at least +15K-20K HP before any damage stats, but more is great. The other two can be standard builds

great! thx :)

Im trying to climb c2 or c3 with a mid game acct. would want to try molly vigor xing zhe but I only have Perna, Kumar, Rakan as fire threats. Does this defense need to be on will or just high resistance and hp?

Will never hurts and Kumar is a pretty decent threat as he does offer a cleanse as well. Really is up to you and what your best runes are for those as they each use a different type and set.

Nevermind Kumar, I just got Vanessa today. Is she still good in AD? Im thinking:

Vanessa, Vigor, Molly, Xing Zhe

Vanessa, Vigor, Molly, Triana

Vanessa, Clara, Triana, Miho

Vanessa, Triana, Praha, Perna

I'd commit to either a speed team or a stall team, unless you have godly runes, going half and half won't really do much for you
