Street Fighter 5 developers: There are still undiscovered secrets regarding Zeku, G, and Byron Taylor

Capcom is continuing its updated communication practices with fans of Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition as director, Takayuki Nakayama, and producer, Shuhei Matsumoto took some time to chat with Spin in an interview that released just today.

From reflections on SF5's turbulent beginnings to general approaches in connecting the dots in terms of this portion of the franchise's story, there's plenty of interest for fans of Street Fighter 5 here. That said, one part stood out to us as particularly intriguing as Nakayama directly shared the fact that there are undiscovered secrets still waiting to be discovered, and he gave us three places to look.

"In one of the previous answers," starts Nakayama, "I mentioned that we’ve included numerous hints, but there are still undiscovered secrets on the following topics: Zeku and Strider; Q and G, [and] The United States Air Force and Byron Taylor."

It's not that we haven't put all three of these general concepts under the microscope before as Zeku clearly echoes Strider, Q clearly echoes G, and Byron Taylor stood as one of the leading suspects for Season 1 DLC for a short while during the game's earliest chapters.

The Air Force Base stage was added back in Season 1 while speculation of Taylor (who appeared briefly in the teaser for A Shadow Falls, the game's story mode) was running rampant. The character does indeed appear in the background of that stage, which now may once again be of bigger concern than the... other thing that happens in the background of that stage.

Given their particular affinity for SF5's story, these two developers could just be referring to still-buried connections between these new and old characters, but one has to wonder if any of this is pointing at the game's biggest remaining mystery: the identity of the fifth and final Season 5 DLC character.

Unless said character is simply Byron Taylor (please, no) we imagine whatever clue or hints are floating about are going only to give us cryptic arrows that only half point us in the general direction of the truth, but the fact that the community suddenly has such leads will almost certainly result in plenty of theories coming down the pike.

We'll let you all get started with those now, but would heavily suggest first checking out the rest of the interview with Spin. Please offer up your best guesses and theories as to what these secrets might be and who they might point to in the comments below.
