What travelers are saying
- Anny454Chipping Norton, UK97 contributionsFor anyone with an interest in things Roman, this museum is an absolute must. Straubing was an important port on the Danube, on the edges of the Roman Empire, and the mass of artefacts which have been excavated are evidence of that. I can’t recall ever having seen so many wonderful things from that time in one place before. In particular the treasure, consisting of elaborate military parade items including helmet masks, grieves and horse masks is just amazing. Obviously there is a thriving group of re-enactors and enthusiasts in the area, as there are beautiful replicas on display. Also, the importance in which this museum is held is evidenced by the displays and curation.Written October 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SFO45Virginia766 contributionsIf you like cemeteries, you'll love this one. St. Peter's was allowed to just go untouched by human hands for 150 years, so there is moss growing on the gravestones, and other grave markers tilted at crazy angles by the shifting earth. There is even one grave marker almost totally enveloped by a tree. The chapel in the graveyard is beautiful, with frescoes containing skeletons as well as religious imagery.Written May 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeff RGrants Pass, United States15 contributionsThis is a must do especially if you're considering an alternative to the Munich Oktoberfest. This is more of a family fair type event with plenty of bier tents and things to eat. The commercial vendors are not nearly as useless as they are in the states. The rides are the best I've ever seen and things in general are priced fairly. Free admission too. It gets busy especially towards evening, but it's a bit cooler compared to daytime hear in August.Written February 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NeilChester, UK11 contributionsThis is a beautiful Bavarian village with stunning architecture. The Main Street is wonderfully spacious, clean and has plenty of shops and restaurants for all tastes.

Early morning was ideal for this before the main bulk of visitors but the zoo was immaculate, the animals looked great and happy in their enclosures.
I am a fond visitor of some of the bigger Zoos in the UK, but this was really a pleasant way to spend a few hours watching the animals. If you are look for a way to spend a couple hours either alone or with children I would definitely recommend this and very cheap for admission.

It's got wonderful architecture and is well worth taking a walk to see it. We didn't get to take a tour, but they are available.Written June 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kenneth LChicago, IL181 contributionsThis was a nice, detailed brewery tour with a small group and a very informative guide. I was surprised at the number of products produced here, and you get right up close to the process. At the close of the tour, we were treated to a very generous variety of brews for sampling. Everyone was treated to some pretzels and it developed into a good conversation about beers. Light and dark, flavored with lemonade, and all were available to taste. Nice experience!Written November 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
