The actor spent a two-year season with the RSC, appearing in such plays as All's Well That Ends Well, Coriolanus and Pericles, before being cast as the lead in <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/24740" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Derek Jarman</a>'s controversial art-house feature, Edward II. With no prior film experience, the actor found the transition from stage to screen an easy one, following his screen debut with a starring role in <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/22406" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Michael Mann</a>'s epic, The Last of the Mohicans. His other feature credits include 1492: Conquest of Paradise, the BBC's professional boxing drama Seconds Out, Don't Get Me Started, Carrington (opposite <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/1234" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Emma Thompson</a> and <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/4115" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jonathan Pryce</a>) and <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/36486" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Antonia Bird</a>'s Face with <a class="external" href="http://www.filmbug.com/db/4352" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Robert Carlyle</a>. FUN FACTS He's performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company He has appeared in Richard the Lionhearted in two productions: Robin Hood: We are Robin Hood and Heroes and Villains: Richard the Lionheart In Sleepy Hollow, Steven's character was decapitated. The model of his head created for that scene was flown in and used again for Buckingham's beheading in Season 1, episode 2 Steven Waddington’s character, Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham, lays claim to the English Crown by being the descent of Edward II. In 1991 Steven played Edward II in Derek Jarman's film version of Christopher Marlowe's play Edward II (1991). Each of their claims to the English Crown were brought to an horrible end.
