His teammate Andy Robertson was forced to bail him out of trouble as he cleared Jean-Philippe Mateta’s ensuing effort off the line in dramatic fashion.
Palace were already 1-0 ahead thanks to Eberechi Eze’s early goal, with the match finishing that way in front of a shocked Anfield.

The Reds have now blown their Premier League title chances after suffering back-to-back home losses, having lost 3-0 to Atalanta in Europe on Thursday (11 April).
