It's a fun film with very impressive CGI for its time. The bugs and premise is weirdly convincing. Where it is let down is in the appalling screenplay, acting and campiness. Denise Richard's though woof. Bought and watched on DVD.

I watched this many times as a kid since I own the VHS. Glad my parents watched this, I still enjoy watching this on Bluray. It's one of the best CLassic movies out there. And shows the militaristic world. I also owned a bunch of Bug toys from the movie as a kid. Had a long lasting impression thanks to this movie.

In its early scenes, 'Troopers 'is basically a goofy high school movie, complete with love triangles, a big game, and a school dance (and sex) after. Once they've begun infantry training, the flexing of machismo so over the top, it can only be satire.
