The original Stargate was such a great series. To bad they have not kept up with the Movies.

I just finished a marathon session of watching all the Stargate seasons. For completeness, I wanted the 'Ark of Truth', which was supposed to wrap up the series. Getting the other 2 movies was just a bonus. The package is quite nice, with 1 disk for each of the 3 movies. 'Ark of Truth' is a good but not great wrap up to the series. They tried to cram a little bit too much into it. Including have an unexpected (well maybe not that unexpected) 'bad guy' who willingly does something incredibly hard to justify, just to add additional hoops for our heroes to jump through. Then the end is somewhat anticlimactic. Almost like they ran out of time and had to wrap things up quick. Still, it does wrap up all the loose ends from the series, and is entertaining enough to be worth watching. 'Continuum' was a delightful surprise. You would think that after 'Ark', there would not be anything left to say in this universe. Wrong! They cleverly found a loose end left over, and gave it a really good yank. The result is a very enjoyable addendum to the series. There is a touch of confusion about how many StarGates there are on Earth. From the series, we know of 2 of them. In this movie, either there are 3, or one, which was implied to be 'unrecoverable', was recovered. Having just seen the pilot a month ago, I did not watch 'Children of the Gods'. However, the directors of the series are good, and after 10 years, have a lot of experiance with the series, so I expect this to be at least as good as the pilot, and there is a good chance it is better.Read full review

The Stargate movies were no surprise, and are the usual excellent stories. The re-cut pilot "Children of the Gods" now there is a new item. I liked the original version, and had no objection to the nudity, in fact I liked it. However I must admit(and it pains me) that the re-cut version is in my opinion, a much better version. I think the story flowed better, and was just a better version. The only thing that I might do different, would be to keep the McGiver reference in the arrival at Chulak scene. A very well told story, that to me just flowed better than the orginial cut.
