Bartenders are first rate. The building has had legendary performers. The food - well.... its an afterthought.

Tuesday night open mike Blues night absolutely phenomonal - truly great, talented folk jamming all night. Great pub food too!
Basic but above average bar or roadhosue food. Good to grab a bite before seeing a band. Nice outdoor area. Short but solid selection of beers, too. Not terribly expsensive either.
Purchased gold tickets for a comedy show, this giving me stage side seats. When we arrived, our tickets were scanned and we stood there waiting to be seated. No one sat us, so we looked for seats. When we couldn't find seats, we asked for...help and was told, try and find something they couldn't find anything for us. We had to stand at the bar for over two hours watching the show. I called to complain and talked to a very rude manager, who basically told me, we were liars. Then she hung up the phone. Would never recommend this place to anyone!More
Not what it used to be. There used to be up and coming acts that would really interest me. Now it is mundane and the sound is usually much to be desired. The food is pretty much fast or fried. Salads are OK. Just a...shame the wonderful clubs of yesterday are diminishing or losing the ability to entertain.More
I will never ever come back to this place. First of all, the bouncers treat people like garbage. At a show, one of the security guards purposely pushed a woman on the ground when she didn't do anything. Then I saw another guard throwing the...girl out. The girl wasn't even drunk. Is that the norm to allow men to beat women there? I was dumbfounded and disgusted. I also keep hearing stories about that place from bands that they add more drinks on your tabs. They have no option for beers and ridiculously overpriced. The food is sub par at best. I had better food at Mcdonalds. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.More
While walking thru the town we were subjected to obnoxious loud music coming from an open door. Should be a town ordnance against this.
We had a good time seeing the drag show here in August … entertains and gives some fun For the area …. Seedy dive bar atmosphere but still a good time
Great Place to see a live show. 1st time there. What a great show and the people there were fantastic!
My husband and I were in Stanhope specifically to hear the band Good Stuff. Well they played some great stuff! We didn't eat any food while we were there, we had dinner elsewhere but ordered drinks. Good service!
I have visited the Stanhope House on several occasions. Although it's a small area and very loud it's still enjoyable.
I was there with few friends for the Drag Queen Show Was disappointed with the bar service and overall experience Not enough tables to sit (didn’t know you can and reserve sitting) we were lucky we got a table food was dry French dip Bartender...couldn’t crap a smile also they run out of drinks no orange juice or pineapple Jill the waitress was awesome and did her best to give great customer service Wish it was more organized and better flowMore
I returned to this venue, on a business/personal trip to North NJ where I grew up in the 70's. Popular blues and other musicians play there. Great bar food worth coming early to dine.
Went there for the first time with VIP tickets! The band was awesome, a Clapton tribute band. It’s a great venue for music. Unless you like your music really loud I do not recommend paying extra for the VIP seats which put you stage front,...near the speakers! I recommend eating elsewhere and arriving closer to the time the main attraction goes on.More
Been to The Stanhope House many times over the years. They get some great bands in and it can get tight for sold out shows. Reserve a seat and have a snack from the small menu before the show. My wife loves the French Dip....Fries are lame though. Service is pretty good despite the tight quarters the wait staff must endure.More
