Hotel Bologna

Pisa City Center Pisa|0.44km from San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno
I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. A night stay in this B&B, which is located on the first floor of a building in a popular neighborhood in the city centre of Pisa and 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Tower: all right. The hotel is located in the centre of the city and its inhabitants, and is located in the heart of the city and its inhabitants. The more pleasant stay is elegantly decorated, both in the common parts and in the rooms. Excellent litter and DIY breakfast available in the room, ideal for us who leave the hotel in the midnight to catch our return flight. You will be hosted by your host via What'sApp who will communicate you, once a check-in form or a photo of your passports addressed, a code that allows you to open the door of the building by scanning a QR code on the face of the building. Don't forget your smartphone ...

The hotel is too pit, we have 5 people (3 big 2 small), booked a 4 person room, two nights. When chech in, the hotel said that the room can only accommodate 4 people, more than one person can not, but also forced us to book more than one room, 55 euros for 1 night, 2 nights for 110 euros. At that time, we negotiated with the hotel that we could live, do not need an extra bed, and can pay for the cost of one person to the hotel, but the hotel insisted on NO, and we also communicated with the hotel through Ctrip, or insisted on their position. We went to three countries on a 15-day trip on the 1st road, which is the case at this hotel. Is this hotel living on this kind of technology? Too bad, breakfast is very bad, don't order.

First we were suppose to be accommodated in different room - the one I choose in the picture at booking.com. There was nobody in the reception - I went there twice. Phone was not working. So then we decided to went outside and rang the bell - so we basically lured the receptionist from his hideout. We had to wait one night and then they moved us, but if we wouldn't say anything nobody would take care of it or apologise for it. There were also missing slipers in the room - next day we got flip flops - not really nice if you are staying there in winter. The whirlpool smelled like a sewer first time we wanted to used it - just disgusting. There was also a lot of noise not only coming from the street thru the windows, but we could hear our neighbours as well. I put a few dirty towels on the floor to be collected by cleaning lady - I found out she just folded them and put between the others we were still using. During five days we got shampoo and shower gel only once. Last day when we were leaving we asked for the taxi to the airport - the receptionist told us that probably they will be busy - he didn't check anything just said this - when we went there back to picked upt our suitcases we asked him again and he said there is no taxi today :D - he could at least try to call other company or whatever. For the money I have spend and considering the fact it is 4 stars hotel - I was expecting much more better service and at least some good will and an effort to make your clients happy.

Visited this place booked last minute due to other locations being in lock down. This place is brilliant. Nice located within 5 minutes walk of the tower and 10 minutes to the main shops. The premises is nice and clean and well presented. Spoke to Luca beforehand who only asked that we text him ahead to let him know what time we were arriving. Met by a very pleasant and knowledgeable receptionist who booked us in and proceeded to give us a map with recommendations of things to do which was very helpful. Also recommended a very nice restaurant I-Santi a few doors away which was brilliant and subject of a separate review. The room was large and had it’s own balcony with table chairs and other bits of furniture. The tower was viewable from the balcony photo attached. The added touch was the supplied breakfast the following morning which had a full continental choice. Wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again, well done to Luca and the team

We stayed for 4 nights in Pisa at the Hotel La Pace. Pisa is a very interesting city, clean with some great eating places. Also very good for anyone with a gluten intolerance. We stayed at the Hotel La Pace which deserves 5 stars. Clean, friendly staff and great breakfast. we did experience a couple of 'drop outs' with the Wifi but that is the only negative thing about this hotel.
