It's a nice Church! Went here today I was looking for a Church close to Knott's. I like it because it was not crowded.

My wife and I got married at this church, this was the first church we attended together as a couple. We even attend mass through our phones on Sunday's.
Last Sunday I heard the priest (Nguyen?) give a sermon about Gays not deserving to be parents. The priest quoted many statistics but I didn't hear any statistics regarding whether gays make bad parents.
This was really disheartening to hear. This line of reasoning seems to indicate gays make terrible parents because they are gay. With so many children needing to be adopted I would think the church would be in the business of helping match children to parents and not making judgements. I'm hoping to check back in a year and hopefully this church is more accepting. May you learn of gods mercy and love Saint Irenaeus.

This Church is nice. I don't think it is as busy as other Catholic churches in the area. Since I moved to Orange County in 2001 I have yet to find a home church. Out of all the ones I have been to this one is my favorite. As a child I went to mass religiously because my parents told me too. As an adult I find myself wanting to go to church now because I want too. Not because somebody is making me.

This church runs like any other Catholic church with the pre scripted outlines. One already knows what to expect. The woman vocalist who leads all the songs has the most beautiful angelic voice. She is accompanied by a younger man on the piano.

Parking is plentiful but I decided to park on the street right in front of the church to make way for a easy exit.

      Im a fan.

      Love this church
This is a vibrant, active parish with as many ministries as diverse as Saint Irenaeus is; from bible study, feeding the hungry, evangelization retreats, to a variety of music ministries serving children, teens, adults, Spanish speaking parishioners, and the Filipino Catholic Federation

If you're looking for an opportunity to participate and to wake up your relationship withJesus, you'll find it at Saint Irenaeus Catholic Church

I came to this church the first time to a 3 day retreat back in 2011 while I was going thru some challenging moments ... the Lord kept telling me "Be still and know that I'm God" Psalm 46:10 and HE surely got me thru it

They offer mass daily I always come to service when I'm in the area

You will enjoy coming to the presence of God at this church. Great way to nurture your faith, reconnect, get more involved, or simply a place to pray

My friend's 3-kids got baptized here, made their first communion here and attended Saint Irenaeus catholic school, great school

      They have ample parking available

I have been a member for 8 year now and truly love my parish family. We have a very active church filled with many loving and kind persons. There are many ministries to help from Human Trafficking, Mental Illness, Food distributions, etc. There are many masses to choose from and Fr Binh has done a great job keeping our parishioners' fed during Covid-19.

Located within a residential area, this church is quite charming with the right size. I came here for my cousin's wedding yesterday. It has ample parking. The priest was very funny. The location is perfect.

I LOVE Saint I! I was raised Catholic and became a registered parishioner when I moved to Orange County when my husband and I married about 7 yrs ago. His family have been active members of the church for many years and my husband went to grade school here. That being said, this was NOT the sole reason why I decided to join this particular congregation. From my first visit and mass, I was welcomed and felt at home. Plus, all of the priests are very friendly, inspiring, down to earth, and funny!

When my husband and I decided to marry they offered us premarital counseling even though we decided to have our ceremony outside of the church because we decided on a destination wedding. They even offered to bless our marriage before our ceremony or once we returned home. It was really nice to see we had their support even if we didn't decide to have our ceremony there.

My son was baptized there and our experience with everyone involved, from the priest to the people conducting the baptismal preparation sessions were all very pleasant and informative.

When my mother in law fell ill and passed last year the church was a huge support system for our entire family. The priests not only visited w/o hesitation at every request for home prayer services with her when she became to weak to attend mass at church, but they also visited the home after she passed for prayer services and support for the entire family. They handled all the funeral services with grace and professionalism. And they still continue to offer their support every time we attend mass reminding us their doors are open even just to talk.

I never thought to write a review for a church on yelp, but I happen to come across Saint I's reviews and was shocked at the one star reviews and felt they were unfair. Although, I do agree w/ the negative reviewers that the lady in the office can be rude at times, I don't think it is a deal breaker for me... since she is not the one I come to church for and I am not required to deal w/ her very often anyway. It's just not fair to base an entire church rating over one lady's personality especially when it doesn't seem to effect or reflect on the other countless hardworking positive people and attributes that this church has to offer.

This review is not for their weekend services, but more for their service at the office.

I mean no harm, but I was trying to have a church wedding in New York and they told me I had to go through numerous classes and a weekend retreat here so they can prepare paperwork for the church in NY. I got the sense that because I am not going to wed here in their church, I was less important to them. Lastly, because I was not an attendee of their mass and was new to the church, they do not respect that. I just moved in the area!!

I went to one meeting with a priest and he was very nice. I like the priest. But the gatekeepeer (the person in charge of marriages and coordinating the classes and retreats there) was very unhelpful and was rude at times.

I decided not to go through a traditional church wedding, but will have a minister/officate handle my ceremony.

I am posting just about the 5 pm Sunday mass.
It had live music (piano, drums, guitar) and a really sweet faced young lady on vocals. I am always happy to see accommodations for an increasingly easy to distract young generation.
It's a lighter - hearted mass, for sure, than the "regular" masses that will have fire and brimstone sermons. There was a priest who might have been visiting (?) and he kept his homily on the lighter side, albeit with all the Catholic "appropriateness".
Minimal crying or commotion from children, most likely due to the light-heartedness overall.
I really appreciate that a section of the front pews was designated for those elderly or handicapped and their caregivers. It's both smart and kind.
Numerous times to choose from the Sunday schedule.

I have been a member of this church since the day I was born...1965. Our family have been parishioners since day one....1961.

Father Aaron is great. He makes the mass fun. We go to the 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning mass.

If you are lo king for a great Catholic Church, this is the church for you.
