To confirm Mass times please contact the parishes for this information.

A parish is generally territorial and can include one or more churches. The parish embraces all Christ's faithful of a given geographical area (Canon 518). A parish is defined as “a community of Christ's faithful, stably established within a particular church, whose pastoral care, under the authority of the diocesan bishop, is entrusted to a parish priest as its proper pastor" (Canon 511).

Only the diocesan bishop, after consultation with his Council of Priests, can establish, suppress or alter parishes (Canon 515.2).

About the Catholic Diocese

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle represents the Catholic Church in a region extending from Lake Macquarie to Taree and as far inland as Merriwa and Murrurundi. A diocese is a community of Christ's faithful - it represents a portion of the people of God in a particular area, which is entrusted to a bishop.

The Diocese acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, sea and water ways on which the Diocese is located - Awabakal, Biripi, Darkinjung, Kamilaroi, Wiradjuri, Worimi, Wonnarua. We commit to the ongoing journey of Reconciliation.
