This restaurant is a nice surprise — but even more surprising is the early hour reservations are needed. People in Omaha eat early on the weekends (at least during the winter, from what I can tell). If you want dinner here on a Saturday night,...you should make reservations —- or go at 5:30p to eat. Excellent menu and service with a good wine list.More

My husband and i stopped for lunch this Sunday, not knowing it was “Brunch only” till we arrived. We opted to try it and had a very nice brunch for $20 a person. The brunch had only 4-5 main dishes, and lots of little sides,...but everything was very tasty and well prepared. I loved the baby-back ribs, veggies were good too. Total bill with a glass of wine apiece, coffees and tip was just under $100. We would certainly try Spezia again for a regular lunch/dinner.More

So we went to Spezia for the first time for a date, and had an amazing dinner. Our waiter, Brian, had a great sense of humor, and really good knowledge of the menu and what to recommend. We enjoyed the hot artichoke crab dip to...start, and then enjoyed the Petite Tenderloin and one of the nightly specials, a Seafood Cioppino. Serving sizes were good, beef and seafood was cooked perfectly. Aside from a very large loud group in the same room as us, we had a great time, and can't wait to go back!More

Had a great meal on the patio. Service was outstanding and so was the 14 ounce Hunter Ribeye with loaded baked potato. Beautiful evening made it a wonderful experience....Thank you to the staff and chef.

My 10 year old son is severely allergic to many foods including dairy, soy protein, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and fish. Sadly this limits his ability to safely eat out and he is accustomed to being told nothing is safe by restaurants. He assumed this...would be the case on a recent visit to Spezia while in town visiting family. However, our waitress was very knowledgeable and kind. She spoke directly to the chef, checked for cross contact (such as butter added to boiling water for pasta), and talked to both of us several times. My son enjoyed a delicious filet (baked instead of wood grilled as the chef wanted to be extra cautious) and a side of pasta. Even though he had to order off the adult dinner menu and his item was the most expensive thing they served, it was priceless to be included. And the steak was delicious. Thank you for being inclusive!More

We walked in hungry from a long road trip looking forward to a steak and potato dinner. I ordered a 'medium rare "heart of sirloin" with a loaded baked potato; my husband ordered a medium rare tenderloin with fries. The lovely waitress mixed a delicious...olive oil melange for the delicious hot rolls she put on our table. Great start! However, when the steaks arrived, mine was tough and dry, and my potato must have been baked the day before. My husband's tenderloin was good, and his fries were just acceptable. There was a 20% charge in small print announced on the outside of the building (we have never before experienced that sort of thing.) All in all we would not recommend this recmmend this restaurant which seems to be what my mother used to call a "put up job'.More

We had our date night on Friday and I can’t believe how amazing everything was! We were taken well care of! Our service was amazing. We had fried spicy calamari that was amazing and delicious. My husband had Chicken Parmesan that was juicy and with...a little crunch that was served with tomato sauce and cheese, he loved it! I had beef pasta that had fresh mushrooms! Our dessert was banana foster cheesecake that was so good it was gone in a minute! We highly recommend this restaurant. We’re looking forward to coming more!More

My wife and I decided to have our 25th anniversary dinner here. Service was great, food was exceptional and the atmosphere was perfect. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake dessert in made locally by a 90 year old lady. It is fabulous and a great story.

I had the best steak I have ever had in my life at Spezia! I am a native Chicagoan and go to all the great steak houses in the city. I have travelled extensively in the U.S. and Europe and I can honestly say that...I have never had as great a beef tenderloin as I did last Saturday night. My husband had the duck, which he also orders frequently at restaurants and said it was great. Our server Dylan was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was well versed on the menu and had lots of great suggestions. Overall a 5 star dining experience!More

We have been to this restaurant many times since it started up where La Scala 72 used to be. Right from the start it has been our favorite restaurant in Omaha. While they completely refurbished the site creating a warm atmosphere, they also added outstanding...service and food. As soon as we sat down our server introduced himself and handed us fresh warm bread rolls and iced water (which was obviously not the cruddy tasting tap water of Omaha). The meal that followed was outstanding and great value for money. I had the duck which was crispy but succulent and actually an improvement on the last time I chose it. We have toured Italy, where we enjoyed numerous great restaurants, but frankly did not find a restaurant we enjoyed as much as Spezia.More

The restaurant has a nice patio dining area, enclosed with a high brick wall. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. They had a good wine selection by the glass. They offer a great bread dip of balsamic/Parmesan prepared by waitperson. We had the Caprese...salad which was very good. The pasta Bolognese with sausage was also very good.More

We recently reserved a room at Spezia for a surprise birthday party. We had our own server who was very attentive. She kept up with serving a variety of drinks to 30+ and we were able to order from the menu. Several of us had...the flatbread and were quite pleased. Thank you Spezia for helping us to make this birthday the best ever!More

This was our 2nd visit to Spezia and it did not disappoint. We did not have reservation in July nor in September but I am told as winter sets in you should have a reservation. The service is outstanding, understanding of the menu amazing, staff...very professional, hat goes off to the person who taught the service team they are polite! We have tried the spicy fried calamari with the roasted red and banana peppers very good (fried but it's still a light feel). The mediterranean chicken salad is enough for 2 and that chicken is very savory, the seafood diavolo so many different taste buds came alive (a must). Being from Texas we always like to have some form of meat at dinner and the Garlic herb tenderloin was amazing. We tried the different flatbreads but our favorite was the Italian sausage roasted one. Plan to return in November and we will stop here again for sureMore

I reviewed this place seven years ago and the good thing is it is still a top location in Omaha. The gnocchi remains the best dish on the menu but there really isn't anything you can go wrong with. Great Italian food.

Everything was incredible. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was great. We were able to make substitutes for our meal since I don't like onions, which was just icing on the cake. Our waiter, Ben, made the whole experience so much better, too....He was very personable and fun to talk to. Overall, it was one of the best eating experiences we had on this trip, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.More

No dress code. Lots of people wear jeans and nice shirts. My wife and I dressed up when we went but it was a good mix of dress up/dress down.
