Chichester Festival Theatre’s critically acclaimed, landmark production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific transfers to Sadler’s Wells this summer for a strictly limited season.

This powerful love story, set on a South Pacific island during World War ll, is brought thrillingly to life in an epic new five-star production directed by Chichester Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director Daniel Evans (Me and My Girl and Fiddler on the Roof). A sensational cast of over thirty is led by the leads from the Chichester Festival Theatre production, including Julian Ovenden, Gina Beck, Rob Houchen, Joanna Ampil and Sera Maehara. With designs by Peter McKintosh and choreography by Ann Yee, this ravishing musical is set to be the must-see theatrical event of the year.

Featuring a full orchestra, South Pacific boasts one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most memorable scores, this much-loved Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical features songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and Bali Ha’i.

Image description: A man and a woman, both light-skinned, are seen from the shoulders up in a passionate embrace. Their faces are partially concealed as they share a kiss. The man, on the right side, wears a button down, khaki shirt, has short hair and a closely clipped beard. His hand can be seen grasping the woman’s shoulder. The woman, on the left side, wears a beige, button down shirt. Her hair is neatly curled with some of the curls pinned away from her face. Her arm crosses the man and her hand cradles the back of his head. Behind them is a golden sunset and palm trees. There are three small propeller planes shown flying into the distance up in the sky.
