So I got tired of editing videos on a cell phone, so I wanted to venture into Vegas, I used it a couple of times on a friend's PC, but I think it's time to use one on mine. I used Vegas 6, but I don't know if I should go for something better, although I'm not going to do anything too complex, that's the truth.
System specs: Intel(R) Celeron(R) N4020 CPU @ 1.10GHz 1.10 GHz + RAM: 4,00 GB
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 21H2 19044.4291
Vegas 6 was quite good, excellent performance on this machine, the only thing it failed was its file explorer which I can import without problem.

Get Davinci Resolve. It’s free and is used widely. You’ll probably find more YouTube help videos for that than Sony Vegas.
I don't think davinci can run on Op's pc

I don't think you should be editing any videos on a Celeron. That thing will probably combust the moment you try.
Damn bro, only 4GB of RAM is tough. You can try incrementally going up the ladder (Vegas 7.0, 8.0, 9.0) and just stop at the one that doesn't crash your system lol. I would imagine that any of the versions before 2010 should do the job, just don't try editing anything thats 4K.
I have no experience with Sony Vegas, but I think it's probably more important which type of files you use to work. Make sure to use low resolution proxies in a format like ProRes or DNXHD as this will make your editing experience much smother.
I could imagine that Davinci Resolve could run relatively (!) good on your machine with proxies, as it has good performance in general. But I can’t make a comparison to Vegas, as i never used it

Hey matte What sort of editing are you trying to do? If you're not doing a lot of heavy effects you should probably stick to Vegas 06
You could try version 14 but that is the furthest I would go
