Disappointed in Sony! What happened to their reputation?

I bought Sony's top of the line 77" BRAVIA XR A95L, and after weeks of waiting it finally arrived. The box was completely undamaged but upon unboxing I discovered that Sony's packaging engineering team really screwed up by not including any sort of screen protection.

They have big Styrofoam inserts to hold the TV in place, but because of they didn't protect the screen itself, wherever those inserts are, the anti-glare layer on the screen gets rubbed leaving large and noticeable abrasion marks that look like silver colored damage.

In looking online to see if there was some way to clean those marks off, I discovered that this is a very well known issue and happens to lots of people. It also happened on the K series of TVs and Sony clearly choose not to address this problem which probably could have been solved by Sony spending literally a dollar or less to add a protective sheet of plastic to their screens (like all the other major manufacturers do) to prevent this abrasion damage.

I was disappointed to have to deal with a defective product, but I figured Sony is a reputable company and surely they'll stand behind their product, right? WRONG! Customer service told me that their warranty doesn't cover screen damage in transportation, they only cover manufacturing defects. It is utterly ridiculous that they don't consider their own negligent packaging design failures which result in damage a manufacturing defect!

Bottom line is they cut corners in their packaging which resulted in damage and then didn't take care of their customers. Shame on you Sony! I'm going to message the BBB and FTC if Sony doesn't make this right.

Screen problems
Problemas con la pantalla

My Sony Bravia started to see white sectors on the screen that grew, making it difficult to see the image, as if it had a veil. Can it be solved with a service or does it no longer have a solution?

thank you

My KD65x750h I can’t get any Bluetooth to pair it just keeps looking for the devices and never finds them. The one I’m wanting to connect the most is my Sony MDR1000X Bluetooth headphones but the tv won’t pair with anything! Any help would be awesome

XR-55A90J USA won't power on. (1) Unplug TV from power for 60sec then plugged in, (2) unplug TV from power, held power button on TV for 60sec then plugged in, (3) unplug from power for 60sec then plug in wall outlet. Won't turn on. Firmware is current.

Bravia Sync Not Working on AppleTV 4K

Hey, is anyone else having issues with Bravia Sync and Apple TV 4K? I tried every troubleshooting there is and I’m not able to navigate through the Apple TV 4K menus with the Bravia remote. It only turns it on and off. I’ve gotten used to the convenience of using Bravia Sync to avoid reaching for multiple remotes to control all my connected devices. Fixing this problem doesn’t appear to be a top priority for either Sony or Apple since it started happening more than month ago.

ep53 and dbekoscke like this.
Bravia XR90K LED

Bought in November 2023 and last night noticed 2 grey/cloudy symmetrical dots about a foot and a half apart on the lower third of the screen each dot is maybe an inch in diameter. I've seen other posts on here about dust? I do not really have a dust problem as dusting is done weekly. Any ideas?
