The formations in these caves are like nothing we’ve seen before. Absolutely stunning. It’s very good value for money, the tour lasts around 2 hours. Our guide was Colton and not only does he know his stuff, his love for the cave comes through in his delivery. - Mike K5 contributionsIt's absolutely wonderful to have a tour given by someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and telling informative stories of seemingly all of the items on display. There was no time where we weren't learning of some part of the history of Sonora or just seeing old items from the past. - angieabruzzeseNarrowsburg, NY124 contributionsLovely Nature walk and exhibits, some of reptiles. The volunteer was very hospitable. We did the trail walk, it is rough, but nice, walking most of trails, maybe less than a mile, about an hour.
Left donation. They are working on things.
We stayed for the night in Sonora on the way to El Paso from San Antonio .

Nine-hole golf in Texas has a subculture all of its own, where friendly competition and a well-designed golf course make one heck of a fine day.
Our family varies greatly in skill level, from rank beginners to a +4 handicapper. We played a "Texas Scramble" format, where we used two drives from each player. Sonora's course forced our beginners to really focus on fundamentals, but not necessarily distance, so everyone contributed meaningfully to our round. The greens are larger than a typical nine-hole course (and they were really nice bent grass), so putting was a pleasure.
Unexpected was a visit by the club pro who came to play a couple holes with us and gave our beginners a few pointers. And another surprise was the variety of birds around the course. We learned of a nearby bird sanctuary and the Sonora area's importance as a migratory route.
Nine holes seemed to be the perfect amount of time to stretch our legs, get fresh air and have some fun.
