- Nintendo announces that the online servers for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U family of systems will shut down on April 8th. The ability to merge funds from the 3DS and Wii U eShop with the Nintendo Switch account will also end on March 11th.

- Masahiro Sakurai announces he plans to end making videos for his YouTube channel "sometime this year".

- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate celebrates its 5th Anniversary by holding an event in-game where players can be rewarded quintuple EXP and Spirit Points for five days. It is also announced that four new Spirit events, which will include new Spirits and Spirit Battles, will be added through the course of 2024 starting in January.

- Nintendo announces that the online servers for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U family of systems will shut down sometime in April 2024; games like Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U can no longer be played online after this period.
