Well the Skyway Theatre is interesting. If your from LA this would be = to the Belasco Theatre. Majority EDM/Rave type vibe, certain events multiple states multiple bar locations and can be a pretty wild place, but everyone seems super nice and no sketchy vibe. If you like EDM/Rave vibes totally a awesome spot, haven't attended the venue when they do some bands.
Drinks Price Range $6-$12
They are strong, and super nice!
Also this Venue is technically 3 Venues
Barfly = Bar on the Hennepin
Loft = Third Level Smaller shows
Skyway = Main Theatre big shows

Went there to listen to dubstep with some friends. Definitely a place to go if you want to see rave culture in Minnesota! A+ underground music place!

It used to be a big screen movie theater ... then it was several theaters ...then it was a bar and dance club ... then ... I don't know what the hell it was ... but now ...
It's the BEST live music venue in the Twin Cities!! (sorry 1st Ave). Because this music hall is a converted theater, the floor rises to give everyone a good view of the stage. There are several bars with friendly servers. There is plenty of room to dance, but also room to sit and chill out. But most importantly ...
They have the best sound system in the Twin Cities - bar none. The sound is loud and full without ever being distorted or painful. (sorry again 1st Ave.)
The only complaint I have is that it is very difficult to acquire tickets to any event here without buying them online and paying a hefty "service" charge. Hey Skyway! How about dropping a few tickets by the Electric Fetus or Down in the Valley?

Skyway theatre is a pretty awful venue. The sound quality isn’t very good. (Old Movie theatre turned into a venue, curtains still up on the walls) you have to stand directly In the middle in order to have best sound quality. They have a knack for over selling sold out shows making it almost impossible to get around. And to top it off, the staff is mediocre at best. One bartender charged me 7$ for a drink, the same bartender tried charging me 12$ for THE SAME drink an hour later. Needless to say, I only go there because of the artist. I find myself wishing the artist would goto another venue.
It is really easy to get to tho- right off of main bus lines and parking ramp (6$) right next door.

The venue is small and you need to come prepared to be packed together like sardines. Pushing, shoving are the norm. If you aren't a fan of smoking and/or pot don't go here. The theatre itself can not help the fact that Yelawolf only did one song, went to the hospital (he was sucking down fireball and who knows what else, though they claim exhaustion) and after over an hour we were told the concert was cancelled.

Very unique place to have a concert. I like that are two areas to have shows. I like how its in an old theatre so the floor is slanted.

I have gone to Skyway for many concerts over the past few years and have seen some big artists. The venue is really nice and allows you to have a good view of the stage pretty much wherever you stand.

Went to a concert here and had a great time. Had no trouble getting there and the show was fantastic. I'd certainly go again.

Can you stand anywhere? I have general admission. How close can you be to the artist performing? Is there front row?
