Synopsis
After a high school senior working on his pilot’s license rescues a dog named Oreo, he finds out his mom is a CIA agent who’s been captured. He teams up with Oreo and a new friend to find his mother and uncover double agents inside the CIA.

Little sky and not much dog.
"Skydog" has a misleading synopsis that would appear to have a dog as a main character. However the film is a poorly written, poorly acted, Christian based family film, that carries a poor tiny dog into scenes and barely acknowledges its presence.
This is truly awful filmmaking, but unfortunately not to the level that makes it ironically fun to watch.Action April: Day 8

Even though it clickbaited me with no dog I actually enjoyed it more with the subtle horror parts the comedy and suspense went so well with each other. It entwined like Oreo’s and milk. Should give a watch, enjoyed the plane scenes.

I didn't watch Skydog. I watched Casting Stones. But Casting Stones doesn't have a Letterboxd, and I chose this as an alternate Dean Cain flick.
Why is Rachel Dratch playing a 17 year old girl?? What Casting Stones lacks in writing, acting, production value, production design, and editing, it makes up for by having an anti-abortionist character acting like an asshole. I grade these movies on a curve. Ratings don't matter. Not a waste of time!

Few films have been marketed this misleadingly since Kangaroo Jack. The dog has nothing to do with anything and does something that affects the plot a grand total of one time. WE DEMAND MORE OREO.

What appears to be a vanity project for someone's teen with a dog added in for the children's movie demographic is taken to a new level when you realize the star is the director and is in his 30s playing a teen.
An overly complicated who done it with the dog needing 300% more screen time. On the other hand the dog is clearly not a trained dog and just a friend's dog does add a lot of humor as the dog is awkwardly handed between people mid scene.
Dean Cain showing up in green screen role as the CIA director is so very sad, but Dean clearly needs cash now that he's gone full coke bloat MAGA chud
