Fun and fast paced environment!

Pay is great and the library culture is friendly and very accommodating for all employees. Patrons and coworkers are very friendly. No quota and a very relaxed atmosphere. Team culture is shown as we acknowledge hard work and good working relationships.

Administrative Assistant for Community Services (Former Employee) - Skokie, IL - March 31, 2019
Helped with different groups within the library and setting up rooms. Needed working materials to help out with meetings. Make sure that all the people who were handy caped had means of transporting to the library and back home. Have the new books ready for the bookmobile by pulling them off the selves.

Fantastic work environment and staff

Truly one of the best libraries you will find. The world language sections are extensive and well organized. The staff takes pride in making sure the shelves are neat and the displays are consistently updated. The Skokie Public Library also has one of the best youth services department in the state.

Fantastic staff and the opportunity to learn something new each shift.

Not enough hours/ pay is less than $10/HR

Productive and fun place to work

A typical day in the library consists of greeting patrons as the enter, answering any questions a patron may have regarding their account, and direct them to the appropriate destination. I have learned that while working with the public it is best to remain calm and neutral. At the Skokie Public Library everyone is willing to lend a helping hand.
