Caladiums provide wonderful bright spots in a shady garden although some varieties can stand a fair amount of sun provided they are kept moist as they thrive on humidity. Grouped together, they can look like they are in bloom.

Caladiums grow equally well in containers and pair nicely with ferns and other flowering plants like anthuriums, spiky leaved plants such as ornamental grasses, hippeastrums and Impatiens. In my garden, from which some of these photos have been taken, I group them with other Aroids, such as spathiphyllum, anthuriums, along with coleus and ferns.
