PRESIDENT'S UPDATE

2010 was a great year for the club. All four sides participated in finals. Two sides played in Grand Finals. Whilst the disappointment will still sit with the League players on not taking the flag this year, the club celebrated a fantastic premiership in the Reserves. The youth in the club continues to shine, with a number of players making their League debuts, as well as having Todd Dale Captain the WAAFL State Under-19’s, and Fraser MacDougall and Steven McGuire representing the WAAFL State Under 23’s.

Thankyou to our Coach’s Shane Thompson, Dale Sutherland, Gary Carruthers and  Dan Di Stasio. You have all been down at the club since early January, and your time and effort is second to none. They have had some great support in assistant coaches Gavin Wilkes, Chris Everett, along with Chris Edwards, Don Green and Allan Letchford. Thankyou to all involved for your efforts this year.

The club has been fortunate to have a great support team throughout the year, both off and on the field. Thankyou to our medical team in Ashleigh and Danielle, our fantastic canteen manager in Chrissy, and the Thursday Night crew in Ron Martin, Rob Milburn, Mike Petkovich and Allan Letchford for their fantastic meals.

To the committee, I thank you for your efforts during the year. The club sits in a very strong and healthy position, and is set to continue to be able to re-invest in it’s members and equipment in the coming years. As this will be my final address as President of the club, I would like to thank all that have supported me during my time on the committee and as President, and I look forward to seeing the club continue to prosper in the coming years.

HALFWAY MARK

The completion of Round 9 sees the club halfway through the home and away games of the 2010 season.

All sides are strongly situated in the Top 5 of their respective grades, with the League 4th, the Reserves undefeated in 1st, the Colts 3rd and the F Grade in 2nd position. Whilst the have been a few player struck with injury over the past couple of weeks, the depth of the club at the moment is very good, with 140 players pulling on the Bombers guernsey so far in 2010.

For the League side, the next few weeks will be crucial to setting themselves up for a Top 3 ladder position by Round 18, and I am sure they will be keen to reverse the losses against Warnbro, Thornlie and Kingsway from the first half of the season.

The club has also being keeping an eye to the future, by taking part in a Transition evening with the Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Clubs 17's Bulls. Thankyou to Gareth Ambridge, Chris Boyes, David Carruthers, Josh Lamont and Gary Carruthers who gave up their Friday evening to come down and train with the boys and hopefully help make the transition into community football next year smoother.

The club is being strongly represented in WAAFL State Football in 2010, with Todd Dale being selected in the WAAFL State Colts team, and Steven McGuire and Fraser MacDougall selected in the WAAFL State Under 23 side. Congratulations to you all and best of luck in your final games on Sunday 7th June.

Off the field, the club has had some great social functions, with plenty more to come. Details will be out shortly on the Presentation Night, this year to be held on Friday 10th September. Make a note of the date now and keep it free!

SEASON 2010

On behalf of the committee of the Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club, welcome to the 2010 season. In particular to all the new players to the club, and our new colt’s players who are making the transition from junior to senior football.

2010 sees the Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club rebuilding after a disappointing 2009. A new decade at the club sees a host of colts players looking to break their way into the League and Reserves sides having completed their 2 years in the Colts competition, as well as welcoming a new crop of youngsters into the club to begin their amateur football career. The club has retained the majority of its players from last year, which is a fantastic example of their commitment to the club they proudly play for.

Off the field, the club has retained the majority of the Executive and Committee from last year, as well as welcoming in some new faces to the team. The club has been able to absorb any cost increases to the running of the club to again maintain the Membership, Match Fees and Bar and Canteen prices from previous years.

It is a credit to all players on their application so far in 2010. All players are representing the club well on Match Day with the club dress standards, and it is extremely pleasing to note all players playing for the club are fully financial. This enables the club to continually re-invest, and items such as a brand new pool table, 4 new sets of playing jumpers, warm up training shirts are all on the agenda for 2010, some of which are already in place in the club.

A special mention to all the sponsors of the club, of which it would be impossible to operate. I encourage all members to support the sponsors that make it possible for the Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club to be the place you enjoy playing and watching your football.
