A very hot day turned into a very stormy day and the races were abandoned, but the fun was not abandoned.

I had to go and buy a new camera, and I'm pleased with the results so far. It's the new Olympus EP-1 Pen, with 17mm and 14-42mm lenses and a cute little viewfinder. Next I want the brown leather case and then the converter to attach my 4:3 lenses from the E-510.

PUPU, also known as the Put Up or Punt Up club (or something like that) went to the races to spend their winnings and make some more. I can't have bet big enough, because it is a truth universally acknowledged that the more you bet, the more you win.
15, 16 and 17th January, 2009
To celebrate the 50th birthday of Dave Morris and the 50th birthday of the even older Kel Sloane we all toddled off to the Tumut Cup, visitors coming from Canberra ACT, Cranbourne VIC, Adelaide SA, and Holland Europe. Some of us even backed a couple of winners. As well as the races, golf and swimming were the main recreations, beer was the main libation with bubbles a strong second, and Jean Morris took her regular morning walk.
