Here's a few ideas I have come up with for baskets to give as gifts.     Sue Pitchfork

Time out, Coffee & Chocolate, Wearable,
New Mum, Recipe, New Baby, Flu baskets.

TIME OUT
In a basket or box put a meditation/relaxation CD, herbal teas, scented candles, chocolate (time out bars) and lavender oil:

My friend sometimes life has you stressed,
so take time out to relax and rest.

A meditation CD teaches you to breath,
release your worries put your mind at ease.

Sip herbal teas and smell the lavender oil,
feel your body start to uncoil.

Eat the chocolate and savor each bite,
the scented candle is to light at night

Use this kit and take time for yourself,
a little time out each day is good for your health.

* You can give garden seeds instead of a CD and change the 2nd line to: Flowers to plant as you breath in the outdoors, put your mind at ease, release those worries of yours.

CHOCOLATE & COFFEE
Little jars of assorted coffees, mint sticks, chocolate biscuits, coffee cup, hot chocolate mix and chocolate bar:

Coffee and chocolate go together
like a hand and glove

smooth and full of energy,

    a taste you really love.

Brilliant on a cold day but good in summer too

I made this gift with care just to give to you.

WEARABLE
T.Shirt, fabric paints and pens, metal studs, rhinestones, applique, patterns, band aid and chocolate:

Create an original to wear with pride.

You'll find everything you need in this basket deep inside.

Sequins, applique, studs, pens for your fun

but also a band aid in case you hurt your thumb.

Fabric paints and glitter, and a candy bar to eat,

and when at last you're finished bet people say

"Oh that's neat!"

NEW MUM
Aspirin, photo album, coffee, hand towels, hand cream, favourite music and chocolate:

Not much time to relax, not much chance to rest.

Now that you have a baby to complete your family nest

An album to fill of memories,
aspirin for those endless nights

coffee to keep you awake as you attain new heights.

Chocolate to soothe your soul,
cream for rough chapped hands

and a tape of music from your favourite bands.

Welcome to motherhood, please cherish each day
as you guide this new life gently
and lovingly on its way

RECIPE
Recipe of something you made that someone liked along with pre measured ingredients and napkins. You can also add an apron, tea towel and dish cloth:

This is a favorite recipe that I'd like to share with you.

I've sent the ingredients and the instructions too.

If you feel like sharing please yell when it's done
and I will come to your place
because I know it will be yum!

NEW BABY
Boo boo bunny (wash cloth in bunny shape), 1st Christmas ornament, talc, baby wipes, washcloths, blanket, bibs, teething ring, pacifier, night light, skin cream and photo album:

A bundle of wiggles, joy and giggles,
an angel enters your life

A boo boo bunny and pacifier
for when baby gets in strife.

A frame to display this sweet child of yours

Washcloths, blankets and powder and ointment
for any sores

A light to help see at night, to guide you to the cot

Many years of love ahead whether you're ready or not.

Congratulations and best wishes,
a new ornament for your tree

and if you need a babysitter, please DON'T look at me!

* (Change don't to do if you want).

FLU BASKET
Honey, miniature bottle of scotch, lemon, shot glass and tissues.

It is the season of snuffles, colds and flu
So I made up this basket just to give to you
Everything you need to make a drink of cheer
To help to ward off the germs lurking around this year
Honey soothes a sore throat, lemon is natures antiseptic
Alcohol will drown your woes and help you to forget it.
So pour yourself a little nip and climb back in bed
Things could be wayyyyy worse at least your not dead!

Every survival kit should include a sense of humor
