CURRANT LOAF

1 lb currants
2 cups water
1 lb sugar
2 oz butter

Boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cool and add:-

1� lbs flour
� teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons bicarb soda
2 teaspoons allspice
4 teaspoons ground ginger
� teaspoon ground cloves

Bake in two loaf tins at 350�F (180�C) for 1� hours.

Serve sliced and buttered.

Freezes well.
