About The Beatles

The

Beatles

It has been just over three decades since the Beatles began making musical history together, and over two decades since they stopped, and yet it is just about impossible to tune into any radio station without hearing a Beatle song.

In 1964 the census reported that there were more teenagers than ever before - most of whom crowded into Beatles concerts, joined Beatles fan clubs and knew the words to every Beatles song. Today those teenagers are grown up (me included), and many have children of their own who have rediscovered the group which personified the youth of their parents.

But it is not nostalgia which draws old and new fans to the Beatles, it is their enduring genius and the breadth of feeling they shared that continues to call people to their music. They were visionaries transforming rock and roll into a powerful medium for love, humor and social change.
No other musical group has touched - and yes -, even changed - as many as the Beatles.

But in the beginning, they were four young guys from Liverpool who shared a simple dream, a dream to play in a rock and roll band.
