Social Support and Counselling Services Pty. Ltd. offers brief counselling delivered by qualified and experienced counsellors who have a solid understanding of your client group.

Our counsellors are experienced in private practice as well as in fulfilling the requirements of Job Capacity Account Services (JCAc Services) in the following barrier categories:

• Personal,
• Environmental,
• Socio-cultural and
• Legal support.

We will assist your client to develop strategies that will improve their current situation, facilitate motivation, and prepare them to take a more active role in the community and workforce.

Using schema therapy, cognitive strategies and general counselling techniques, Social Support and Counselling Services Pty. Ltd. will assist clients with the following barriers/issues:

• Improvement in coping strategies;
• Better ability to manage anxiety, anger and depression;
• Improvement in social skills and communication;
• Confidence and self efficacy issues;
• Accessing community resources;
• Drug and alcohol issues;
• Relationship and marital therapy;
• Domestic violence;
• Grief and loss issues;
• Social isolation;
• Finances and risk of homelessness;
• Lack of motivation and personal direction.

Social Support and Counselling Services Pty. Ltd. counsellors have a thorough understanding of the aims of the "Welfare to Work" reform and are experienced within the job network/employment arena as well as being experienced counsellors. This combination of skills will ensure that the focus is on preparing clients for sustainable employment as well as addressing their non vocational barriers by tailoring each session to suit the needs of the individual client.
