Service Description

The services Safe-Job WA provides are Safety Training, Safety Audits, Safety Inspections and Safety Plans. Peter Doherty, a qualified industry person, conducts safety Training. This is demonstrated through the other services of Audits, Inspections and Plans.

Safety Training

Involves the teaching and facilitation of the course (Course in Safety Awareness Training - 51466).

The components of this course consist of the following features:

    � At least 4 hours duration
    � Usually conducted in training rooms Training is mobile. So long as there is a training facility available to house the clients and facilities for the training tools (eg electrical supply for PowerPoint and video), training can be conducted anywhere in Australia.
    � Class size usually approximately 20-30 people.
    � The Course Content includes: the rights and responsibilities under the occupational safety and health legislation of people who do construction work or employ people who do such work; the hazards to which a person is likely to be exposed while doing construction work at a workplace; and how to apply risk control principles when doing construction work at the workplace.
    � Continual assessment will occur throughout the course along with a verbal, question and answer session at the conclusion of the course, plus a short written test.
    � All attendees at this course will be issued with an attendance Card "Safety Awareness Training Card" and statement of attainment.

Safety Audits
    � Involves completing a comprehensive overview of safety management procedures within the organisation.

Safety Inspections
    � Involves conducting (site safety) inspections to measure compliance with safety laws and standards to report on accident potential and offer remedies where necessary.

Safety Plans
    � Involves the development of written procedures that detail job activities through the identification of hazards, the assessment of these hazards and detailing controls of the hazards.
