My primary objective as an educator is to assist students to become independent successful learners, who will be socially adapted and self-reliant individuals.
I have a commitment to lifelong professional development in education and my continued studies have established a comprehensive understanding of the pedagogical needs of students, and their varied learning styles. Whilst working within the training environment in the information technology area I have experienced the nuances of several major educational systems around the world.
The challenges of vocational institutions sees education moving from a traditional classroom setting into a vivid world of virtual communities that cross all boundaries; this has influenced my desire to understand these environments.
My current responsibilities fall into two major areas; firstly, I have a lecturing role in the Certificate IV and Diploma of Software Development qualifications. This involves the training of ICT skills in programming languages, network hardware and server operating systems. The second area of responsibility is the creation and development of course content for ICT Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications for classroom delivery and online through the Blackboard learning management systems.
