300mm rainfall, loam or clay soil, height 6-10 metres. Moderately salt tolerant. Fragrant yellow flowers in mid-October. Attributes - windbreak, understorey, durable timber, firewood.
Acacia microbotrya (Manna Wattle)
300mm rainfall, most soils, height 2-8 metres. Moderately drought tolerant. Bushy shrub or small tree which is suitable for general revegetation.Fast growing, life span 40 years plus. Attributes - fodder, honey, windbreak.
Acacia saligna (Golden Wreath Wattle)
400mm rainfall. sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, clay and gravel soils. Height 5 metres. Foliage varies in size and shape. Versatile and quick growing. Yellow flowers in spring. Attributes - windbreaks, soil stabilisation, coastal areas, moderately salt and water-logging tolerant, useful stock fodder.
Allocasuarina huegeliana (Rock Sheoak)
300mm rainfall, most soils. Height 8 metres. Moderately frost and drought tolerant. Ornamental species which is suitable for general revegetation. Life span 50 years plus. Attributes - fodder, honey, windbreak.
Callistemon phoeniceus (Fiery Bottlebrush)
350mm rainfall, most soils, prefers moist site. Height 1 to 4.5 metres. Not salt tolerant but waterlog tolerant. Bushy shrub which is suitable for general revegetation. Excellent for cut flower use. Life span 60 years plus. Attributes - water absorber, honey, cut flower, windbreak.
Casuarina obesa (Swamp Sheoak)
350-400mm rainfall, sandy loam, loam and clay soil. height 6-20 metres. Small tree with blue-grey needle-like foliage. Attributes - suitable for growing in salty, water-logged areas, firewood, windbreak and fodder potential.
Corymbia calophylla (Marri, Red Gum)
500mm rainfall, most soils, prefers moist, well-drained sites. Height 25-45 metres. Creamy/pink/white flowers December to April. Beautiful shade tree with hard, strong and durable timber. Important food source for fauna. Life span 100 years plus. Moderately frost and drought tolerant. Attributes - timber, honey, windbreak.

200mm rainfall, most soils, height 25 metres. Fast growing large tree. Mid-green foliage with smooth white or grey bark. Attributes - Moderately salt tolerant, Highly water-logging tolerant, shade, firewood, honey, wind resistant.

Eucalyptus kondininensis (Kondinin Blackbutt)
300mm rainfall, sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, clay and loamy clay soils, height 8-15 metres. Upright, spreading tree, black bark on lower trunk, glossy foliage, cream flowers Oct-Dec. Attributes - salt tolerant tree for heavy soils but does not tolerate water logging, shade tree, honey.
Eucalyptus leucoxylon var "Rosea" (Pink Flowered Yellow Gum)
400mm rainfall, sandy loam, limestone, loam or clay soils, height 3-4 metres. Adaptable, small tree with smooth bark, matt green foliage and an abundant display of red flowers. Attributes - moderately salt and water logging tolerant. Suitable for hedges, windbreaks, screening, honey production.
Eucalyptus longicornis (Red Morrel)
350mm rainfall. Medium tree with thick, grey bark and white flowers. Widespread in the wheatbelt from Coorow to Esperance. Favours loamy clay soils.
Eucalyptus loxophleba ssp loxophleba (York Gum)
300mm rainfall, sandy loam, loam and loamy clay soil. height 6-18 metres. Medium tree with spreading crown of glossy green foliage. White flowers Sept-Dec. Attributes - Moderately water logging and salt tolerant. Good shade tree, general revegetation projects, honey production.
Eucalyptus occidentalis (Flat Topped Yate)
400mm rainfall, loam, clay loam and clay soils. height 12-20 metres. Slender, quick growing, medium tree with a flat topped shady crown. Creamy white flowers Nov-May. Attributes - Moderately dieback sensitive. Suited to wetter sites and moderate salinity. Shade tree, firewood, general revegetation, honey.
Eucalyptus utilis
400mm rainfall. Sand, sandy clay, sandy loam soils. height 4-6 metres. Adaptable small tree with a dense round crown to ground level. Dark foliage and a smooth, light brown bark. Massed white flowers. Attributes - Ornamental for parks and gardens, hedges and windbreaks, honey production, revegetation.
Eucalyptus rudis (WA Flooded Gum)
400mm rainfall. sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, clay and loamy clay soils. height 10-20 metres. Fast growing tree adaptable to seasonal flooding. Spreading, often multi-trunked tree. Attributes - Good revegetation tree, shade tree, firewood, honey production. Useful for soil stabilisation.
Eucalyptus salicola (Salt Gum)
250mm rainfall. loam, clay, sandy loam, sandy clay, loamy clay soils. Height 10-15 metres. Medium sized, smooth pink bark and crown like a Salmon Gum. Attributes - Shade tree, firewood, high water user and adaptable to salty soil.
Eucalyptus salmonophloia (Salmon Gum)
250mm rainfall. Sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, loamy clay soils. Height 12-30 metres. Large tree with a spreading umbrella-like crown of foliage. Trunk is covered with a distinctive salmon-red bark. White flowers Dec-Mar. Attributes - Moderately die-back sensitive. General revegetation, good shade tree, honey production.
Eucalyptus sargentii (Salt River Gum)
350mm rainfall. sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, loamy clay and clay soils. Height 6-12 metres. Small, upright, spreading tree. One of the most salt tolerant eucalypts. Flowers Oct-Jan. Attributes - Ornamental, honey, general revegetation windbreaks.
Eucalyptus spathulata (Swamp Mallet)
300mm rainfall. Sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, loamy clay and clay soils. Height 6-12 metres. Rapid growing small tree, adaptable to most conditions. Masses of white flowers Dec-Mar. Attributes - Good for general revegetation, shade tree, honey production, windbreaks, bird attracting.
Eucalyptus torquata (Coral Gum)
250mm rainfall. Sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, loamy clay, gravel, clay. Height 6-12 metres. Small tree with blue-grey-green foliage forming a compact crown. Striking coral pink blossoms through most of the summer. Attributes - Firewood, honey production, bird attracting, frost tolerant.
Eucalyptus wandoo (Wandoo)
400mm rainfall. sandy clay, sandy loam, loam, loamy clay. Height 8-30 metres. Medium sized, spreading crown tree with smooth white bark and grey-green foliage. White flowers Dec-May. Attributes - Hard and durable timber tree, revegetation, shade, honey, bird attracting, windbreaks.
Melaleuca cuticularis (Salt Water Paperbark)
500mm rainfall. Sandy clay, loamy clay, clay soils. Height 6-12 metres. Spreading crown tree with white papery bark. Massed white flowers in early summer. Attributes - Suitable for saline soils and waterlogged areas. Soil stabilisation and revegetation. Hedges and windbreaks, shade, frost tolerant.
Melaleuca hamulosa (Broom Bush Honey Myrtle)
500mm rainfall. Sandy loam, loam, loamy clay, clay soils. Height 3-4 metres. Dense, spreading shrub with fine foliage and creamy white flowers. Attributes - very salt and water-logging tolerant. Excellent for revegetation projects, understorey, windbreaks, soil stabilisation.
Melaleuca rhaphiophylla (Swamp Paperbark)
600mm rainfall. Dense, medium tree with papery bark and profuse white to cream flowers. Widespread in WA along river banks and in swampy areas.
Melaleuca uncinata (Broom Bush)
300mm rainfall. Sand/loam soils. Height 3-5 metres. Well known for its use in brush fencing and shade houses. Drought tolerant. Attributes - Honey, windbreak, brush fences.
