Karen A. Harris passed away on April 5, 2020. Karen was born in Nyack, NY on May 15, 1942 to Alice and Thomas Welsh of Haverstraw, NY. She lived with her parents at 60 Broadway, Haverstraw and graduated from Haverstraw High School. Karen earned a degree in Laboratory Technology from the MANDL School in NYC. In May 1962 she married her high school sweetheart, George Harris at St. Peter’s Church, Haverstraw. They lived in Roswell, NM while George served in the USAF and moved to their current residence on Willow Grove Road, Stony Point in 1968. Karen received her BS Degree in Accounting in 1981 from Dominican College, Blauvelt, NY then worked at Rockland Community College until she retired in 2002. A devout Catholic she was very involved with her church, St Gregory Barbarigo, Garnerville, NY. She served as Eucharistic Minister and was especially honored to be the Hourly Captain for the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. Her greatest joy was her faith and family. She is survived by George, her loving husband of almost 58 years, her children Brian and Debbie his wife, Mark Harris, Megan (Harris) Carey, grandchildren, Amanda Carey and her partner Matt Hitchcock, Emily Carey , Maggie Carey, Madison Harris, Alexandra Harris, Everett Harris, Sam Harris and Joe Harris, great grandchildren Landon and Gavin Hitchcock, as well as her sister Mary Alice (Welsh) and her husband Reiner Hartman, brother Thomas Welsh and Bonnie (Krauser) his wife and sister Beata Welsh and her husband David Phillips, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be known for her kind, generous and loving nature and will be greatly missed. We Love You!  A Mass and Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
