The Ritz in Singapore is outstanding.

This property is expected to excel and it did.
I was particularly impressed with the rooms and views.
Staff were professional and attentive.
Food for breakfast was fine.
Lots to do in the area or by short taxi ride.
Very impressive overall.
We had the choice of the new Marina Bay Sands (huge and lacking in atmosphere) or the Ritz Carlton for our Singapore Stopover and aren't we glad we chose the Ritz Carlton. This is a superb 5 star hotel with enormous bedrooms and spectacular bathrooms. There are not too many places where you can have a bath with an incredible view!
All the room facilities are excellent with the lighting system a genuine work of art (once you have figured it out). The huge beds were a godsend after a long flight from Paris and were comfortable to the extreme.
The staff in the attractive public areas were warm, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
We ate in the Greenhouse where a 50% discount was available for a la carte as part of the package. All restaurant staff were excellent, especially Thomas who made sure my wife had Gluten Free bread whenever we arrived. Thank you Thomas.
So with an excellent room rate, including a 4.00pm checkout, airport transfers, discount restaurant etc. Singapore Stopovers are fantastic value. Australian tourism could learn a lot from the way they do things in friendly Singapore and of course the Ritz Carlton
Perhaps I have been fortunate on my trips to Singapore to find myself only in extremely well run properties. Perhaps there are no bad ones. After all, Singapore is a five-star park.
This trip was for a board meeting. I used my limited influence with the arrangements meeting to choose one of the properties that I had been to before. Instead I simply added one more great property to my list of hard choices of hotels in Singapore.
This hotel starts with great architecture. It is a beautiful work of art with lovely room decor and public rooms. The public rooms are spacious and inviting, large enough to provide both company and privacy. Even the bath rooms were special, large, open and with all the amenities. Real walk-in closets. Luxury bedding.
It is integrated into its environment so that it is a safe and easy walk to other hotels, restaurants, convention facilities and shopping.
When I fumbled with luggage and credentials on arrival, the doorman paid my taxi driver.
Not surprisingly, check-in was welcoming and efficient. In fact, everyone on the staff, regardless of role, handled every suggestion of a request through to satisfaction. Wonderful.
I no longer carry a computer that will attach by wire. WiFi in my room was not very good. When I inquired, I was moved to different room. Now frequent travelers know that once, settled, changing rooms is often more stressful than what prompts the move. Really great hotels like this one, know how to make it painless.
Even departure was exceptional. After late check-out the hotel took responsibility for my comfort until my late evening plane. They took care of arranging my transportation, luggage, and even offered the spa for a late shower and change from business to travel clothes.
I have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. Most are forgettable. This one is a pleasure to recall.
Well run, well kept extremely glamorous hotel. Views are fantastic and the quality of the rooms are amazing. Biggest draw are the bathroom with over-sized windows (see pics).
The rooms are equipped with a iPOD/ iPhone Dock that allows you to play music, photos and videos right on the TV.
The Gym has the latest equipment and the pool is fantastic,
This is the closest hotel to the F1 paddock and where most of the top F1 protagonists stay (and at the adjacent Mandarin Oriental). The atmosphere in the public areas is great. I particularly enjoyed the outside terrace bar, suitable for cigar smoking. Service is excellent everywhere. The pool is not bad, but it's a little better at the Mandarin. Also, the rooms and in particular those with terraces are better at the Mandarin. Outside the F1 season, I'd probably stay at the Fullerton.
