Simon Luckinbill may come from a line of acting royalty, but he decided to channel his creativity into making art. While he has no social media presence, Simon Luckinbill once revealed he drew inspiration for his work from an array of things, including his religion.

Fans were able to catch a glimpse of Simon over the years when his mother took to Instagram to celebrate his 40th birthday in December 2020. And one of the pictures showed Simon in an art gallery.

The now-42-year-old, born in Los Angeles and raised in New York, studied a host of things in school, from music to nutrition, but later stumbled across his passion for art.

Simon Is the Grandson of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz

Simon's mother, Lucie Arnaz, became a well-known face in the acting industry after she pocketed years of experience in musical theatre and was featured in a handful of films and TV shows such as "Who Is the Black Dahlia?" and "Welcome to the World."

His father, Laurence Luckinbill, has spent his acting career portraying historical figures such as former U.S. presidents Theodore Roosevelt, as well as Lyndon B. Johnson, author Ernest Hemingway, and attorney Clarence Darrow.

Simson's grandparents are also acting legends, known for their roles in the 1950s sitcom "I Love Lucy." Although he had family members with an acting background, Simon did not limit himself to a career in acting and studied music, drums, percussion, poetry, and nutrition.

However, he discovered his passion for mixing mediums and using color and texture to express himself. And with his "brilliant eye for color and art expression," as his mother noted, Simon decided to start making art. He said:

"I started looking at painting as (a) way of self- expression. I find art to be cathartic. I tell stories with my work. After all, art is about emotion. And my art is about me."

Simon's work, inspired by an amalgamation of things such as Christianity and music, was featured at Gallery 500 in Palm Springs twice, in 2016 and a few years prior. And the artist, who was garnering attraction for his work, noticed an improvement in his artistic skill.

Simon said he had grown compared to the first time he showcased his work in Palm Springs. "I have had other experiences that influence my work," he shared.

Simon Has Two Siblings

Simon's mother was married once before she met his father, and they married in 1980. During their marriage, they welcomed three children – Simon and his brother and sister, Joseph and Katharine Luckinbill.

His Brother Joseph Is Also Talented

Simon's brother followed in their grandfather, Desi Arnaz, and uncle's footsteps and pursued a career as a musician. He was only eight years old when he picked up a guitar before earning his bachelor's in music with a minor in jazz and classical guitar from Shenandoah University.

In 2018, Joseph was studying to obtain his Master's after nearly a decade of experience making music and had a few musical credits. In 2010, he partnered with his mother on her album "Latin Roots" as a guest artist and composer and played the guitar and ukulele.

He also released a self-titled album, although he revealed that his musical skills were more equipped for making music than for singing. Joseph said:

"I make tracks daily and play multiple instruments like guitar, bass, drums, keys, and sing some, but I am definitely more a musician, and I live to create music."

Joseph Luckinbill also teaches little children how to play the guitar when he isn't making tracks. His sister is the only one of his siblings to choose a career in acting like their grandparents, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
