How many episodes are in Shooter season 2?

Shooter season two will finish earlier than scheduled after the leading actor broke his leg in a “freak accident” last week. 

Phillippe, who plays sharp shooter Bob Lee Swagger, posted a picture of himself in hospital with his right leg in a cast.

In a tweet to his fans, the 42-year-old said: “Hey, guys. I didn't injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of shooter. 

“I was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday.”

The show was due to run for 10 episodes after premiering on July 19, but producers have trimmed the season to eight episodes after Phillippe’s accident.

A Paramount TV spokesperson said: “Our priority is Ryan’s recovery and, after conversations with our partners at USA and UCP, we’ve decided that we will wrap season two with episode eight.”

When is the next episode of Shooter on Netflix?

The latest episode of Shooter drops on to in Britain less than 24 hours after airing in the US. 

The action-drama is broadcast on USA Network on Tuesday nights so new episodes are available on the streaming service every Wednesday. 

The second season of Shooter is already two episodes in, with the next instalment scheduled for release on Netflix on August 2.

Who is in the cast of Shooter?

Shooter follows Ryan Phillippe in his role as expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger. 

Reese Witherspoon’s ex-husband is also known for roles in Cruel Intentions (1999) and The Lincoln Lawyer (2011).

He is joined by on-screen wife Shantel VanSanten (Julie Swagger) who is best known for playing Lori in The Final Destination (2009).

Shooter also casts Arrow star Cynthia Addai-Robinson as headstrong FBI agent Nadine Memphis. 

Omar Epps portrays Isaac Johnson, Swagger’s former commanding officer who coaxes him back into the field after a plot to assassinate the President is revealed. 

Epps has previously starred in House, Resurrection and Deadly Voyage. 

Shooter is based on the best-selling novels by Stephen Hunter and the 2007 film starring Mark Wahlberg.
