What travelers are saying
- CooldriverOmaha, NE132 contributionsReally nice visitor center staffed with friendly, helpful people! There is a huge statue of Elvis predominantly located in this building. Finding nowhere to post a review of Memphis in general, it left a lot to be desired. The streets of Memphis and West Memphis, including the interstate, were littered with trash and in bad condition generally. There were very rough roads in many areas including the highways.Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BeachnsbNew Smyrna Beach, FL45 contributionsNice displays. Enjoyed it with my teen. Doesn’t take much time. We bought the combo ticket to include the Memphis Rock and Soul Museum as well.Written November 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EuropeRUsChicago, IL66 contributionsThis campus has a mansion, a miniature circus display, a Piggly Wiggly original store, and lots of science and artifacts. Good for all ages.Written January 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rhonda hGreenville, MS144 contributionsMy granddaughter loved the Children’s Museum! She was all over the place! From the carousel to the splash park and shopping at the Kroger’s exhibit. Wonderful learning tools from different professions. It was a great experience overall. She cried when we had to leave.Written May 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tabhauserBoulder, CO803 contributionsTaking a tour in this 55 Cadillac is a blast from the last! Our guide was very laid back and took us out of downtown Memphis. Expect tourists to take photos of you when you drive down Beale SteetWritten October 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gsatovitsch45 contributionsThe Victorian District of Memphis is an absolute MUST for every visitor - and in my opinion Mallory-Neely House is the most beautiful and most fascinating building in this area. My daughter (9) and I had an awesome house tour, photography is allowed and even encouraged. House tours take about 1 hour.Written April 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Gene KSalisbury, NC1,220 contributionsA fun and educational museum. Exhibits are well presented and give a good understanding of the role that cotton played in the development of Memphis and the American South.Written April 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alexisrachelletxNashville, TN1,631 contributionsThis past weekend when visiting my brother in law in Memphis, we stopped at Overton Park for a little hike, and it was really nice! I'd driven through a bit of the park before when we visited the Brooks Museum of Art on a past visit to Memphis, but this time we explored the Old Forest within the park! It's 142 acres with four miles of unpaved walking paths, including a the one-mile Old Forest Loop trail. On a nice day, it's pretty beautiful! A great oasis in the middle of the city! Definitely worth visiting.Written November 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Betty S1 contributionOpen the doors of St.Mary's and one encounters the presence of God. As a child growing up my daily/weekly attendance was at Holy Names, but, Christmas we would walk to attend St.Mary's midnight Mass. Wow! I love this church and the memories of LOVE that I have encountered there. Our wedding was held there and our walk down to my beloved Grotto to say our first Marriage prayer together bound us for 61 1/2 years. Although we moved from Memphis in 1971 every trip back home would not be complete until we attended Mass at St. Mary's. I truly wish all could experience the beauty of this small church....walk around inside and devour it's beauty, you will not be disappointed.Written January 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EaglesFan27Reading, PA697 contributionsI walked over the pedestrian bridge from downtown to avoid the parking fee. While the exhibit and museum used to be open, it’s still under renovation. The best part was the views of the river and downtown. It was also neat seeing a model of the Mississippi River.Written July 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom DMadison11 contributionsThe museum is closed but you can walk by 'the River'; the signs are all up and it's still an interesting exhibit. - bekahchicaBaltimore, MD253 contributionsWe love a professional theatre with a resident company! I visited for their production of POTUS which was in the historic circuit playhouse (fun fact, apparently Elvis used to enjoy hanging out there). The staff are so kind and helpful and the show was a blast. My only complaint? Where was the audience?! Come check this theatre out!Written April 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
