It says"Sorry but you may only delete posts which have not been replied to."
But it has been replied to! What gives? And why does it need to be " replied" to ?

It's exactly as the message says - you cannot delete the post (unless you are a moderator/administrator) if someone has posted a reply to it.

Is this something that can be changed to replied posts can be deleted by members?

Skwerl, I can see that being really confusing if the post people are responding to is no longer there.  We're having enough trouble keeping up with what's going on as it is, we don't need anything else adding to it 😱 😒

yep, I agree with you Rosie,  but I have a member who likes to do the housekeeping and delete his old threads that haven't been posted on for a while. I was just wondering if it's possible.

I do not think it's advisable to grant registered users permission to delete their posts after a reaction was already placed.
I agree completely - it is easy for the moderators to delete posts on request and the alternative would cause a lot of confusion for ordinary members (like when you follow a link to this site and find the thread has disappeared!)

sheesh, I didn't say I wanted to do it. I just wondered if it was possible so I can give the member an honest answer.
Regardless of whether it was possible or not, we do not encourage random deleting of posts by members.
I don't need to be told how to run the board, and had already advised the member to make a request to admin.
I was just curious and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything in the settings.

Sorry Skwerl, I thought you were making a suggestion for this board, not asking if it was possible for your own.  My bad😳
