She-Hulk is one of the most iconic characters from Marvel Comics. She's had long solo stints in her own book, and she's been a key member of both the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. That means she's had quite a few different costumes over the years. Like any iconic hero, they tend to stick close to a core look, though she's had some very dramatic variants here and there.

With the recent news that actress Tatiana Maslany is playing Jennifer Walters in the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ series, it's possible that some of her most awesome costumes will make it to the screen.

10 Original

She-Hulk Origin

She-Hulk's original costume wasn't exactly a costume per se. Like her cousin Bruce Banner, her first look was just the part of her clothes that survived her transformation from petite Jennifer Walters into the She-Hulk. Her white blouse was torn to shreds and hung on her for dear life.

She-Hulk wore this after her debut in 1980 and into her first stint with the Avengers. Like with the Incredible Hulk, the torn civies made less sense as time went on and she eventually settled into a more traditional costume that would evolve a lot over the years.

9 Avengers

A common variant of She-Hulk's look in recent years has been a purple and white leotard. She's worn several different versions of this while a member of the Avengers. Recently, she's worn a version that keeps the classic leotard look she's rocked for decades but changes up the pattern a bit.

White dominates this costume, running from She-Hulk's neck to her waist, and pushing the usually primary purple to paneling on the sides. This costume can get really simple or really busy depending on who is drawing it and when.

8 Pretty In Purple

She-Hulk's core look tends to focus on the color purple. She settled on the color during her original run as a member of the Avengers, and it's remained a core element of her evolving appearance ever since. The earliest actual costume she wore was an all-purple leotard.

This outfit actually belonged to Janet Van Dyne, also known as The Wasp, a founding but often overlooked member of the Avengers. Jennifer ditched the black bodysuit and kept only the leotard, and that's basically how she's rolled ever since.

7 Red She-Hulk

The Red She-Hulk actually isn't Jennifer Walters, but another character. Still, it's one of She-Hulk's most interesting looks. After the introduction of the Red Hulk, it was inevitable that She-Hulk would get the same treatment and the super angry Betsy Ross version debuted after the Fall of the Hulks.

The Red She-Hulk distinguishes herself with her leather costume, a sleeveless bodysuit with a couple of different variants she's worn from time to time (the most common features white striping throughout). She also has red streaks through her black hair.

6 Current

Immortal She-Hulk Wolverine

The current costume She-Hulk wears in the comics, particularly during the recently completed and massively consequential Empyre crossover, is one of her more unique ones. She wears a version of the gym wear she wears from time to time with a purple and black halter top and trunks.

Jennifer also wears fingerless gloves and bands around her biceps, because they look cool. This look is among the busier ones of all her costumes, and it's uncertain how long it will last as she seems to be headed for a major transformation into the Immortal She-Hulk.

5 Sensational She-Hulk

Sensational She Hulk

During her second '80s solo series Sensational She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters wore a lot of different costumes. A lot. The character started her trend of breaking the fourth wall during the John Byrne run of the series, and that put her in a lot of different looks that tended to be meta-commentary on other comics or movies at the time (at one point she dressed up as Rambo).

One of She-Hulk's best and simplest looks involved a version of her classic purple leotard. This one was more angular in design, losing all the graceful curves of her Fantastic Four costume.

4 A-Force

She-Hulk has worn some version of a purple leotard throughout her career. The best version of it might have been during the epic Secret Wars event, one of the best of the 2010s. With all of Earth's mightiest heroes stranded on Battleworld, She-Hulk finds herself at the helm of A-Force, an all-female Avengers lineup.

It's also one of the most powerful line-ups in all of Marvel history. Jennifer wears a purple and white leotard that in design recalls heavily her original Fantastic Four era costume, especially with the white collar and gloves.

3 FF

One of She-Hulk's most memorable stints as a member of a team was with the FF, one of the more different takes on the Fantastic Four in the team's history. This was actually her second run with the group (more on that later). During this time, She-Hulk wore a sleeveless unitard with the team's uniform dark blue and red color scheme.

She-Hulk also wore silver bracelets, a new addition that didn't last, along with this costume. The colors suit Jennifer pretty well, especially the yellow 4 symbol on the tunic.

2 The 2010s

She-Hulk got one of her best showcases of all time in the sadly short-lived Charles Soule solo-comic from a few years back. Jennifer had gone back to being a lawyer while also fighting crime full-time. During this period she wore a striking new variant on her classic costume.

The purple and white color scheme Jennifer had been wearing for a while stayed in place, but she added an S and H insignia on her costume. It was also more a halter top and shorts, instead of the usual leotard.

1 Fantastic Four

She-Hulk in the Fantastic Four

She-Hulk was well established when Jennifer joined the Fantastic Four in the mid-80s, but signing up gave her and the team a new shot of vitality. Her costume was a variant on the leotard she had started wearing while a member of the Avengers. She adopted the classic blue and white color scheme of the team at the time, which had come about as a result of their being trapped in the Negative Zone.

This look and period are iconic for the team and She-Hulk, who never looked better than she did in the classic FF colors. It also helped that John Byrne was drawing her.
