Sea World could be one of your destination to bring your children. But you must prepare your children, especially who afraid of the dark. Because when you enter the sea world, it's a little bit dark in there.
There's a tunnel where you can see under the sea life, with full of sea animal, there are big shark, hammerhead shark, sea turtle, starfish, and many more.
There's also a little pool where the children can touch the baby sea animal.
And there's a giant shark aquarium, on certain time, you can watch the diver feeding the shark. very excited.

We spent about 1/2 a day at Sea World & found it very good value for money. It's not a huge, expensive place like the western Sea Worlds - it's a smaller, very inexpensive diversion for a few hours. The kids loved the piranhas - you get to see them devour their food, with a clock counting down how long it takes. There are plenty of touch pools where the kids can touch various marine animals, and an aquarium with some good sized sharks. My favourite thing, though, was the 'fish dip' spa where you could put your feet into the pool & have the tiny fish nibble off the dead skin from your feet - they really tickle! We also ate at the foodcourt there & had some great rice & noodles which were very cheap.

To be honest, it's a mixed feeling when i visit Seaworld Ancol today. The pro side:Here you will be able to see each tank residents clearly ( as most of the exhibit without aqua-scaping), the feeding session of main tank is interesting, the Deep sea specimen exhibition are wonderful, eel tank is magnificent. The not so fun to watch is: Touch pool involved protected species of sea turtle ( both green sea turtle and Hawksbill sea turtle). The touch pool is so small and water quality is bad. You can see the water in the turtle pool is light brown, one of the turtle has red eyes ( poor baby)!!!! I was informed this is a govt aquarium, so i am not sure why they allowed such protected species to be placed in very poor condition. Its not even an exhibit, its a touch pool. Another part, touch pool placed the black tip reef shark!!!!! Come on, this shark its not supposed to be inside a touch pool, its supposed to be in the main tank or inside the wonderful tunnel you have. I hope their management will read this and do something about the feedback. You have a well-planned aquarium, and you guys are sea world!! The team really have to revised their exhibits and take into consideration the roles of aquarium in educating public about animals which lead to conservation effort. As for today visit, i can only relate this place is more entertainment than than educational.

Our son had a diving experience (adult one) today and loved it but… last time we came it was for the junior dive experience
And we discovered :- It was expensive for what it was and there is quite a lot less sharks than at our last visit.
Covid precautions have obvious;y affected things but much of the place looked run down and dirty.
The seal enclosure is a disgrace quite frankly. Stood about waiting for divers for almost 2 hours as there is no system for letting you know a few minutes beforehand which would be a great improvement especially if you have anyone with a disability or young children as well. Staff helpful and nice as with previous visits but the whole place needs some effort and money spent.
Cost £200 for his dive and I don’t feel it was value for money TBH. Only reason I didn’t make an official complaint was he enjoyed it and the lady who took him in was excellent. Overall disappointing.

Sharks and dolphins are meant to be in the sea, freely, especially dolphins, they're not meant to play tricks for people's entertainment and not meant to be kept in a tiny pool (comparing to their habitat, of course) with hundreds of people making noise, they rely on their sonar, for God's sake!

We didn't really have high expectations but what we found was even worse. Being a week day it wasn't very busy at all. We paid for the Dolphin show which was scheduled for 4.15 but we left at 5pm after waiting in an empty arena. As we walked out we saw the dolphin enclosure and was horrified, it was about 5metres max in diameter and we could see at least 2 dolphins just constantly going around in circles it was appalling. The Park in general is leafy however the buildings are very run down. The same song was being played over and over and was extremely irritating. This place shouldn't even be operational in the state it is in.

It was very bad experience . It is not clean , no one speak English or Arabic. The show was very simple and the ticket we paid was 450000 Rp never deserve at all. The dolphins show was so crowded and hectic and no privileges to tourists . Hope to see good places in Jakarta that worth visit. Those who wrote in the Internet was saying things from the dream and totally not true. I am really disappointed .

Let me preface this by saying that I am not an expert in marine biology, just someone extremely passionate about the welfare of animals.

I went to SeaWorld once when I was in 5th grade. It was an amazing experience for an 11 year old. I decided to revisit this "magical" place sometime this year and was extremely appalled by the conditions of the marine animals.

First and foremost, is the condition of the marine animals themselves. Many of them has sustained injuries (possibly from poor treatment or stress) and was not treated for said injuries. Not to mention some animals looking weak and not cared for.

Secondly, some facilities for the animals are not suitable for them. For example, a sea turtle and shark being placed in an incredibly small and dirty touch pool tank. Not to mention the lack of sanitation that is required when guests touches the pool. It is very concerning that these animals are treated as toys that guests can simply hold without any concern for the animals in that touch pool. Not to mention there was an aquarium where guest can stick their hands in and touch the small fishes and essentially grabbing them.

Lastly, the lack of guards and supervisors to enforce the rules of a proper aquarium. Despite having rules of no flash, no touching glass, and no sitting on the exhibits, people (mainly children) are running around tapping glasses, sitting on some aquariums (smaller ones not the main one), and using flash photography. Of course, I cannot expect all of those guest to properly follow rules, as a lot of times guests aren't as considerate to the marine animals, but the fact that SeaWorld didn't even have the courtesy to hire more people to take care and guard exhibits so people will not bother the animals as much, is the most concerning part of my experience. This lack of security proves that SeaWorld doesn't care enough to even enforce the rules that they have set up to protect the animals.

Overall I do not encourage anyone to visit SeaWorld nor the Gelanggang Samudra, as they have mistreated and do not care about their animal welfare. Even I and my friends deeply regret visiting these places and felt like horrible people for supporting the mistreatment on animals.

Been here for my kids' education of sea creatures. The place is so hot and dark. the water in the aquarium looks dirty.

But my main concern of this place, regardless the condition of the aquarium and habitats, the place is so hot and the air flow in the area is not healthy. Such a distraction towards the whole experience. Been here for more than 4 times and they have not improve it in any way.

The reason why i go back to this place is because my family love sea creatures and there is no other option available in jakarta. Heard that they have a plan to move it to west jakarta, hopefully the flaws has been taken into consideration.

Visited and love many sea world at many cities around the globe. And wished the jakarta one will match the quality soon.

Sea World is ok, but I don't think we will go back again.

The day we went it was really crowded and the 3 kids with us were really uncomfortable and overwhelmed by everyone who was pointing at them and wanting to take photos with them.

The Sea Horse exhibit is amazing, but there are better Aquarium's in Jakarta to visit.
