it is a nice setting, however there are far better sunset views. Expect to spend a fair amount for drinks and appetizers....$14 four house wine. The entertainment was to begin at 6pm, delayed by 20 minutes.....and a little disappointing. On the positive side, lots of families with lots of kids here for Christmas.......so it was fun to see the excitement and thrill of being in Hawaii for Christmas in their eyes...

This place has a great view and they had awesome burgers. We went here 2-3 times while staying at the hotel. The service was a little slow but it’s such a nice view it really wasn’t an issue. The tables are low so it’s not a regular table you can scoot up to and eat but they have a pretty regular menu.

There is nightly entertainment from 6 - 9pm which is a wonderful way to spend an evening with a drink. The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and nice. We had appetizers there and really enjoyed the Hawaiian pesto crusted island fish and prawns. It was excellent. We also tried their pan seared Ahi sandwich. But you have to try one of their margaritas!!!!!

2nd time here.

Center stage with nightly entertainment 6 -9pm. Very nice.

The service was lame with MANY times having my spouse going to order and get our cocktails. Some of the servers, had an arrogant attitude. Some folks are that way.

You can also have food on the outside courtyard and still hear the nice music.

All in all, it's very nice except for the lousy service and bad attitudes.

Last year we stayed at the Fairmont on the big island and went almost nightly to their excellent Luana Lounge. I was really excited to see that the Seaview Terrace looks almost identical. Beautiful view, comfy seating groups around cocktail tables. Well, appearance is where the similarity ends. The menu here is limited, unimaginative, uninspired. The food quality was fine but its pretty hard to screw up a $21 hamburger and a $14 cocktail. We only went the one time - left the resort or had our own drinks on our balcony the other evenings. Disappointing - this terrace could be so much better.

One of my favorite spots on earth because once we arrive at the hotel and sit on the terrace for a drink, I feel like I'm home. The view is fantastic and the sound of the ocean waves crashing with the glow from the tiki torches (we usually arrive in the evening) sets my travel-weary body at ease.

During our stay at the Grand Hyatt, the Seaview Terrace became one of our favorite, it not our favorite, hangout. The terrace offers an amazing view of the gardens and of the ocean. We probably have fifty photographs dedicated to the scenery from the terrace. In the mornings, the terrace offers a small bite to eat - which was preferrable to the buffet breakfast. In the early evenings, there are happy hour mai tais and delicious appetizers that could pass for a meal. At select times, the terrace also offers entertainment in the form of local musicians and dancers.

On 02-11-12 we went over to the Hyatt around 5 p. m. and got ourselves second row seats in front of the stage to watch the show. Each had a couple of Mai-Tai's, which were very good, and some pu-pu's for a snack. From Seaview terrace we watched the torch lighting ceremony, local music and dancing. Expensive. Entertainment (local) was good. Young students from a dance school performed, one of the guitar players was their instructor. Walked the grounds after the performance, took in some hammock time, watched the stars.

The Seaview Terrace is located inside the Grand Hyatt and just down from the main lobby. Every night there are local performers playing very mellow music. You have a wonderful view of the ocean, which serves as a backdrop for the peformer(s). Drinks and food can be ordered from the Hyatt staff and you get to sit, relax and listen to the music and enjoy the ocan and starlit sky.
