Gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson wed NFL player Andrew East in Tennessee on Saturday. “I’ve found my guy,” Johnson, 24, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “And he’s my best friend, so making it official is exciting.”

The special day was organized by Johnson with celebrity wedding planner Sara Fried of F te Nashville.

Although the former Olympian – and Dancing with the Stars champ – admitted to a few pre-wedding jitters, the outdoor ceremony, held at a private farm in Franklin, was exactly as she hoped: “intimate and relaxed.”

Johnson and East, 24, a former player at Vanderbilt University who was recently signed by the Oakland Raiders, met about three years ago through East’s brother, a fellow athlete. The couple lives in Nashville.

“Everything is right about him!” Johnson told PEOPLE.

“The more I wasn’t trying to impress him by being that celebrity girl or Olympic gymnast, but was just my weird, awkward self, the more he loved me. And it just became more and more comfortable.”
