I have been coming to Napa/Sonoma for over 20 years. We stopped here today and this has become one of the most pretentious, pompous and unfriendly wineries I have ever been to. I came here a few years ago and it was wonderful. Today - not so much. With all of the choices of vineyards to go to in Napa/Sonoma, no need to come to come Scribe.

Driving up to Scribe, you are stunned by the gorgeous grounds and the hacienda. The winery itself is extremely charming, but that is where the good impression ends. We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival, but after we were seated, the service turned to terrible. It is obviously a very hipster/California casual vibe, but the waiter/waitresses took that vibe and ran. We were not given any information about the history of the winery. At one point one of the waitresses asked if we knew anything about Scribe; we replied we did not, expecting her to elaborate, but to our shock, she replied, "cool" and just walked off. For one of the wines, she just came to the table and poured, not explaining what is was, the year, etc. I guess she assumed we would look at the tasting menu? The small plates were "ok", but overall, definitely not worth $60/person. The wine was actually the worst I had had the entire trip. Don't waste your time at Scribe unless you are only going to take selfies or to instagram the view...

Scribe is definitely a see and be seen winery. Gorgeous setting, but there's better wine and food elsewhere in the valley.

The property is a beautiful hacienda home, with luscious grounds. Unfortunately the service team could use some customer relations training. From the moment arrived at the reception table and we were seated, we felt ignored and rushed. Rushed to drink your 4 wine samples and eat the small portions food pairings. There was no conversation from the woman who served our wine pairings, and she seemed to be in a hurry to serve us and be done work. If I didn’t ask, I would have never known the answers to questions about your wines and history. There was no description of where each variety of grapes were grown on the property or what was planted in the gardens. For the $60 we paid we could have had wine and food else where and been treated with much more respect. I will not be returning. By the way go to the winery next door they are amazing !

We went to Scribe for a tasting with our son, daughter in law and new grandson. They are wine club members and so we were able to do the tasting at picnic tables under market umbrellas. The sun was setting and it was such a beautiful setting. The basket of foods paired to the selection of wines was fresh and tasty. We really enjoyed all of the wines and also enjoyed interacting with the Scribe staff. We particularly enjoyed the Pinot Noir Nouveau...so fresh! Also loved the Chardonnay. Such a special introduction to the Napa Valley! We will definitely look forward to returning in the future...

My girlfriend booked the food wine pairing here. It was $60 per person for 4 wines and small plates. Definitely not enough to call it a meal, more like a really large snack. The food was very good and the wines were nice. The scenery and the house are awesome! The weather here is amazing. It was a very calm and tranquil experience. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable and entertained all of my girlfriend’s questions on everything.

This is a very nice experience for couples or a small intimate group. No complaints other than perhaps a bit expensive for what you get. But not ridiculously so. Not sure it would warrant a repeat visit but certainly worth doing once.

As a new member we enjoyed an excellent wine tasting experience when we received our first allocation.
Not easy to find with its small sign at the entrance driveway but you start to see the venue as you drive up the hill. Member tasting is up the hill from the Hacienda, so we still have that experience to come.
Go on a nice day to benefit from the tables overlooking some of their vineyards. Well informed staff takes you through tasting of the wines you’re picking up and then some. You can picnic too.
Excellent Pinot Noirs, and Chardonnay. Others to try another time.

We had an appointment on Sunday, Sept 3, for a tasting. We arrived 15 minutes before our tasting and checked in with reception. A young lady offered us a glass of rose and told us they were still getting our table ready. She suggested we roam the grounds for a bit and she will come find us when our table was ready. It was rather hot in Sonoma that weekend (114 in some spots) so we opted to go into the house and find a place to sit. 10 minutes later, the receptionist found us a took us to a table outside on the covered porch. She said someone would be with us shortly. We waited about 15 minutes and someone came by and dropped of some nuts and olives. We waited another 15 minutes and still no one. We decided to leave. When we left, we explained the situation to the receptionist and her only comment was that she had given us a glass of rose to relax with. Sorry, not the tasting experience we were looking for.

Scribe was the most unique tasting experience our family group had in Napa/Sonoma. We heard of this hipster-like winery through the grapevine and decided to make an appt. It's a very small winery up on a hill that has amazing views of the valley. You'll be seated at a casual picnic table and given a snack tray to nibble on throughout the tasting.

We had an excellend tasting guide, cannot remember her name though! She guided us through 5 wines. We enjoyed them all! After that we enoyed our snacks and the beautiful sunshine that day. Honestly felt like we were going over to a friend's home to hang out!

Beautiful setting, food was ok and not very plentiful. The wines were interesting but not great. The setting made the day, the 70 dollar tasting and wine pairing was way over priced.
